mdibbets wrote:now, the law that is spoken there is not torah. it is talmudic law, rabinnical law, just like the "law" that jews need two kitches, one for milk, one for meat.
Israel was ment to be a light to the nations, to be an example. God NEVER ment to exclude the other nations, but would have rather had them to follow the example if israel(presuming israel would keep a straight path)
Now your exposing your ignorance of the Torah.
Leviticus 18:24-29
24'Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27(for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. 29 For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
NKJV
Deuteronomy 7:1-5
"When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you, 2 and when the LORD your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. 3 Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. 4 For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the LORD will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. 5 But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire.
NKJV
and your sacrifice argument with the feasts is invalid, because all sacrifices were fullfilled in the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ. If you sacrifice again, you are just saying, "Jesus sacrifice can't safe us"
Show me where the Torah allows human sacrifice. The Levitical priesthood was established by the Torah, so when you violate any provision of the Torah you are disobeying the Law.
I will allow you to call me a false teacher, for you are one of the owners/moderators of this forum, so you are entitled to judge to your own standards.
I though, find my opinion in accordance with the whole of the bible. Paul celebrated the jewish feasts. The apostles did that... why would they do that if they were free from the torah? why not make new feasts?
Again I will let Paul answer your question.
1 st Corinthians 9:19-23
20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law, though not being myself under the Law, that I might win those who are under the Law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, that I might win those who are without law. 22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. 23 And I do all things for the sake of the gospel, that I may become a fellow partaker of it.
NAS
The Bible shows you are a false teacher.
Why do the epistles speak so lovingly of the law? saying it's righteous, that it even is glorious eventhough it on itself brings death?
You answered your own question. The Law is the Law of sin and death.
Why are you so afraid of the law? Are you afraid to be judged of sin by it? child molestation? homosexuality? tattoeing? etc...?
Give me ONE good reason, why not to keep the law? is it that bad that you have to give to God? is it that bad that you aren't allowed to have sex with your fathers wife? is it that bad that you have to celebrate the feasts the Lord Himself established? is it that bad that animals who kill humans need to be euthanised? etc....
Now you are crossing the line from discussion to obnoxious and offensive rhetoric. Acts 15 is the Biblical answer to your heresy. The apostles under the guidance of the Holy Spirit exempted gentile believers from keeping the Torah. I am not afraid of the Law, since it was the Law that led me to renounce my old life and seek the Lord with all my heart.
we aren't allowed to convict someone to a certain punishedment, so stoning is out of the question, instead we're supposed to kick him out, so he will be purified because he'll be more than knee deep in sin, and will come crawling back.
So you void the provisions of the Torah that require adulterers to be stoned by the congregation? You reject an "eye for an eye", but maintain we have to keep Yom Kippur? What need to we have for a Day of Atonement since:
We don't have to sacrifice anymore, because all sacrifices are fullfilled in Christ.
So what parts of the Law do you reject and what parts do you adhere to. You seem to be extremely selective of what is and is not lawful.
So, what is an argument against the law? or do you just wish to be homosexual and a child molester, and have as a sidecourse your mother and sister to share your bed? You love one another don't you? You love your friend, your child, your mother and your sister, and you love them very intimately, just as the single command commands don't you?
If that isn't the command if you chuck out torah? If not, give me, a good answer.
Based on the tone of your post and your examples I wonder if you are the one who lusts after his mother, sister, (and should you have a daughter) your daughter. Here again you expose your ignorance of the Bible. "Agapao" is not "eros", which is the Greek word for sexual "love". "Agapao" is to love your neighbor as God loves us and God's love does not have a sexual component. If you "agapao" your neighbor you will not lust after his wife, your mother, sister, and etc. If you love your neighbor you will not violate God's Law, which is why Paul wrote that "Love your neighbor as yourself" is the fulfillment of the Law.
I don't hate or fear the law, you worship the Law instead of God and His Anointed One. And I will repeat the Holy Spirit through the Council of Jerusalem exempted gentiles from keeping the Law.
God promised to make a New Covenant with Israel that is
different then the one He made with them when he brought them out of Egypt. However, you have rejected the New Covenant in favor of the Old, but have chosen to reject certain requirements of the law in favor of only part of the New Covenant.
Why are you afraid of our freedom in Christ?
