ArchivedAPOSTASY - Sun Worship In The ChurchNow let's add John's account of the crucifixion to the mix. Passover starts at sundown on the 14th of Nisan. The Feast of Unleavend Bread is a 7 day feast that begins and ends with a Sabbath. The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins at sundown on Nisan 15. So what day was the Lord betrayed? The Lord was betrayed on the 13th of Nisan. Does this contradict the other Gospel accounts? Not at all since in Matthew's account we read: The Greek translated Sabbath in this verse is "sabbatoon" and should be translated "Sabbaths". The 14th and 15th of Nisan are Hebrew Sabbaths regardless of the day of the week as is the 7th day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Now, before you point out that the Greek translated “day of the week” is also “sabbatoon” we must consider that the Hebrews would be observing two Sabbaths, the 7th day of Unleavened Bread and the weekly Sabbath the week after the crucifixion. Nisan 13th Preparation Day (Tuesday evening for Gentiles, Wednesday begins at sundown for the Jews) Jesus was crucified at the “sixth hour”. Nisan 14th Passover, (Wednesday evening for Gentiles, Thursday begins at sundown for the Jews) Night and Day 1 Nisan 15th 1st day of Unleavened Bread, a Sabbath (Thursday evening for Gentiles, Friday begins at sundown for the Jews) Night and Day 2 Nisan 16th 2nd day of Unleavened Bread (Friday evening for Gentiles, Saturday begins at sundown for the Jews) Night and Day 3 Nisan 17th 3rd day of Unleavened Bread (Saturday evening for Gentiles, Sunday begins at sundown for the Jews) Resurrection before sunrise on Hebrew Sunday, which began at sundown and the Gentile Sunday, which began at midnight. The Lord instituted the Lord's Supper on the 13th of Nisan not on Nisan 14 the Passover. Can I back this up with Scripture? Yes, as Jesus gave a specific prophesy concerning how long he would be in the tomb. The Lord Jesus is our Passover, not the Hebrews Passover. Now lets look at Daniel 7:25. Who are the “holy people” of the Most High God? This designation is applied only to the sons of Israel. Christians are Abraham’s seed not Israel’s seed. Christians are not a nation like the nation of Israel. Zechariah 14 is a prophesy of the Day of the LORD and corresponds to Revelation 20:1ff when the Lord Jesus Christ will rule as the LORD’s (Yaweh’s) anointed King for 1,000 years along with the saints who will meet the Lord in the air (the first resurrection, which is the Biblical rapture). During the Lord’s millennial reign the Feast of Tabernacles will be observed by all mankind. What is the Feast of Tabernacles? The Feast of Tabernacles is a time to celebrate the harvest and comes at the end of fall harvest season. The festival begins on the 5th day after Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement. The Hebrew celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles is a “shadow of what is to come”. Based on your posts and your interpretation of Scripture I discern you accept and promote what is termed “replacement theology”, which means you believe the church has replaced the Israelites as God’s chosen or holy people. This belief contradicts the Bible.
