Buddha, Hinduism, Mithraism, Baha'i, & etc.Well, love me all to hell...
It fits THE criteria of who God is. That includes YOUR criteria. Your attempt to make it my own is foolishness. Did I say that all material scientific laws apply to God? Actually, I didn't even say that the first law of thermodynamics applies to God. I simply showed how it applies to God's energies. Does the scientific law of entropy apply to God? Of course not! Just because I can show how one law is applicable to reality in view of theism does not mean that they are all applicable to the Supreme Lord. You're drawing faulty connections and then on that basis trying to find fault with my reasoning. You're going to have to do better than that. No. I am not contradicting myself because I am not accepting the condition of hell being an eternity. That should be obvious since I made it clear in my initial post here. Yes, men have free will. What of it? Because they have free will, therefore eternal suffering in hell exists? That does not follow. On the contrary, God, the eternal Being to Whom we are eternally related, desires loving reciprocation with us. Certainly God would not contradict Himself by placing us into endless and irreconcilable suffering. I have that much faith and respect in God. When I read something along the lines of hell being eternal or forever, I understand that it is not a literal never-ending situation. Either it is a mistranslation or a misinterpretation. Hell may last for an inconceivable amount of time. That may be upwards of 500 quadrillion years of the planet uranus. Still, that is not eternity. So then those who are elect for eternal hell, that is also foreknowledge. So then why do they exist? Moreover, why do they exist with a sense of free will? Since free will exists for the purpose of love for God, wouldn't the predetermined damned souls' having this free will bare evidence to their purpose of developing love for God? Otherwise, are you saying that God creates predetermined damned souls with a sense of free will so that they can be aware of their eternal suffering? If that isn't the definition of sadism, I don't know what is. That is fine. God judges us all the time. You are only referring to one specific judgement. Actually, God has set up this material nature to judge our actions and apply the appropriate reaction. All of this is the working of God. But nowhere is it reasoned that an eternity in hell is a plausible factor. Ok. And even if someone hadn't sinned, they would still fall short of God's glory. Leading a sinless life does not mean that we are equal to God. Otherwise, the souls in heaven, since they don't sin, they must therefore be equal to God, right? Anyway, what does this have to do with an eternity in hell? |
