Buddha, Hinduism, Mithraism, Baha'i, & etc.Well, love me all to hell...
No need to apologize. This is a public forum. I was actually hoping that more people would come to add their two cents. Then why does God create beings who He hates? At least in this instance, God appears to be referring to one brother being superior to another. Does it automatically follow from this such an absolute as eternal damnation; that God whimsically chooses one individual, spiritual being, to be condemned forever? Within our material lives one man is often more blessed than another. Is God using this obvious truth to explain that one soul (which transcends the 'man', i.e. material body) is to be eternally favored while another is eternally condemned to endless suffering?
This is simply a lesson for the purpose of instilling humility. As soon as we think ourselves puffed up, we fall down. The idea is not to love God and think oneself highly for it. Therefore the final ruling of who is chosen is with God. If you REALLY love God, you will not become so puffed up. Otherwise, God IS affected by love. If He weren't, then He would not ask for it! He would not desire the reciprocation. Apply this understanding to Romans 9:11-16. I have no problem with God saving some and not others. Such a thing will naturally happen because we all have a small amount of will and independence. Our minute independence exists for the purpose of love. It has NO other purpose. If God wanted mindless drone followers then free will would not be a factor. Because love constitutes that one has the will to love, therefore such a will exists in the individual souls. This is absolute evidence that each and every individual created by God exists for that very purpose. Now, since we know that God's creation reflects His desires for love, it therefore follows that His love is applicable to ALL. And this furthermore explains that no soul is to suffer an eternity in hell since that would contradict God's creating their sense of will, as well as contradicting the fact that God knew this individual was destined a reject and therefore would not have created him especially with a sense of will. Let us not immediately rule out the possible understanding that parts of the Bible are mistranslated and/or misinterpreted. No sane person says, "let me accept a contradiction within my own beliefs". Usually, people don't realize the contradiction is there. We have to take what we know about the transcendental nature of God and apply that to everything. If God favors one over another in birth, does that constitute an absolute hell after death? Does that follow from what we know about God? Does it follow from what we know about God's desire for love? Does it follow from what we know about God's creating willing, emotional living entities? Otherwise, are we prepared to accept a sadistic God? |
