Trinity DebateA few simple questions about the concept of the TrinityHave you read Genesis and Job where angels are called the sons of God? As to the Trinity being the "logical" end to the picture, this is a matter of opinion since the end of the picture is the Son being subjected to the Father. This "logical end" is nothing more than circular logic that starts with the Son is God. The Holy Spirit, who proceeds from God the Father is the Father's spirit and not an seperate entity. God through the prophet Joel said: If you believe that "My Spirit" refers to another person who is also God then why not believe that every man is God since we are told that once we die our spirit returns to God who gave it? Our spirits belong to God. Now since God is spirit is it your contention that a spirit has a spirit? In 2 Corinthians Paul does not even hint that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are 3 co-equal and distincft persons. Paul refers to the Lord Jesus Christ and God's love, which is expressed by communion with His (Holy) Spirit. Now you can interpret Scripture to mean what you want it to mean, but in order to establish Jesus is God is have to prove the Holy Spirit is the author of confussion since Jesus and Paul both refer to the Father as the only true God. |
