Hi
I thought that some of you might find this story interesting as it does give witness to the power of a believer in Christ (as well as the prayer of one even after they are deceased) over one who follows and worships Satan. This event took place at a time in my life when I did not follow Jesus and even though I did not follow the advice given at the time the knowledge gleaned from it has allowed me to minister without fear when I have been called to do so with ones who have been or currently possessed of evil.
As you can see I cut and pated this out of a article I had posted elsewhere but I think you can fit in where it starts and leaves off.
Blessings
Doug
Some thirteen years later as my Mother lay on her deathbed she would say to me every day as I sat by her side “Douglas I love you and pray for you every day. Even though she slipped into a coma 24 night before she passed away she briefly came out of it just one hour prior and knowing that she was about to die she turned to me and said one more time but with one small change “Douglas I love you and I will CONTINUE to pray for you every day”.
A year later and along with business as usual I had become engaged to an atheist who made fun of “Jesus freaks” as I continued to disregard my own mortality thinking that my continually surviving the odds had something to do with me. One day I got a phone call and agreed to meet with a friend along with a female companion of his the next day. We met in a crowded restaurant and although she knew nothing about who I was, I was well aware of whom she was and knew that she worshipped evil and was known to do animal sacrifices. During the meeting my friend had to leave the table to make a call and when he did his companion turned to me and said, “don’t marry the girl with the eyes”. I was startled by this remark but I instantly knew who the “girl with the eyes” was since that was one way that people made reference to my fiancé whose light grey eyes were one of a kind. I acted with indifference even though my mind was racing and red flags were exploding around me. I asked her what in the world was she was talking about but her reply shocked me when she told me that she could see my Mother sitting on my shoulder who was telling her what she had to say to me. She soon became very terrified of what she was seeing and me telling her that there was nothing on my shoulder let alone my Mother who had been dead for a little over a year, had no calming effect on her in the least and she starting wailing and moaning while making a scene in a crowded restaurant. When my friend came back to the table he wanted to know what was going on as she was crying and he said that I looked as if I had seen a ghost.
All I wanted was to get away from her and when I went to leave she hung onto my one foot begging me to believe her as I dragged her across the floor on the way to the door. By this time it was quite a scene as this woman kept on repeating over and over that I was not to marry the girl with the eyes while at the same time being absolutely terrified of what she was seeing when she looked at me. When we got outside she added one more item in her attempt to get me to believe her and told me “I swear by your Mother’s Cross that I am telling you the truth”. For a long time afterwards I thought the woman was referring to the fact that my Mother and I wore identical pieces of jewelry that were crosses but now I know better as my Mother’s worship of Jesus Christ was first and foremost in her life.
