If "cut off" means losing your salvation, then yes. But we need to take a step back and define what "cut off" means, because we can't have a productive discussion if we can't even agree on the definition of the terms involved. You believe it means to lose salvation. I believe that it means to be removed from the blessings/promises of having a relationship with God. There are numerous contradictions throughout the Bible if what you believe is true - not the least of which is in this very passage where it says that those who have been cut off can be grafted back in (a point you haven't really address, instead you just said I'm not reading with any understanding). If anyone can be grafted back in (saved again, according to you), then the writer of Hebrews is lying when he says it is impossible for anyone to be renewed again to repentance. |
