Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesBaptism and Salvation :: Re: Baptism and SalvationThen you are saying that God is not a God of Mercy and Love. You only believe in the Just God?!? You don't think that God is a God of Love and Mercy? We all need to read the bible in light of itself. Have you ever read the bible that way? A true Catholic that is a faithful and practicing Catholic reads the bible in a very different way than the way a Protestant reads it. We have to read the bible in "whole." The ENTIRE bible is taken into consideration when only one verse is read. One verse alone contains the WHOLE Word of God. So you cannot read one verse and take it for what it is saying all by itself; not all the verses are read that way. There are some verses that are CLEAR and to the point; they don't need to be "cut up" and over analyzed. Like I said, we need to read verses in light of the WHOLE Bible. Now that does not mean you have to read the WHOLE Bible (although that is good). It just means that you should take into consideration other verses in the Bible when you read a verse or two. One thing I want to make clear is that I am not here to say that "I am right and you are wrong." I want to make clear that my Catholic faith is not "evil" and that the Pope is NOT the "anti-Christ," and to say that God wants us all to be ONE, the way that Jesus was with God the Father. If you are indeed baptized (whether as an infant or as an adult) then you are my brother or sister in Christ. That is what matters to me. BUT... ...what I want to do here is to bring the FULLNESS of the TRUTH, to bring the fullness of the Catholic faith. Do you know that Catholism is the fulfillment of Judaism?... that Heaven is the New Jerusalem? ... that the Catholic Church is the New Israel? Well this is true, it's all true. I want Peace. I love Peace, so I don't want to argue. I love Jesus Christ and I have a full and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. I have my relationship with Jesus in a very different way than you do (not that your relationship is bad or wrong or does not exist). How you might ask? With the Eucharist! The Holy Eucharist is not merely a symbol. The Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. The existance of Christ's Body in the Eucharist is substantial and very real. I just want you and everyone else to experience this REAL PRESENCE of our Lord Jesus Christ. His name EMMANUEL is not just a name. He is really with us; in Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity!
