Free For all - Open Discussions and DebatesI am confusedThe formulae 'c' is not some sort of mathematical fudge, it's a proven law of nature. The speed of light (300,000km per second) is a constant. This means that if you could follow a light beam at 150,000km per second, it would still be accelerating away from you at 300,000km per second, not at 150,000km as it would if it were not a constant. This explains the time dilation effect which has been physically demonstrated over and over again. I'm afraid a so called scientist who is motivated by anti-scientific creationist dogma rather than an unbiased search for objective and empirical truth, deserves to be ridiculed. Ultimately, Creationists will not succeed in undermining science, they will only suceed in ridiculing and invalidating the Christian faith.
It is you who is making the assumptions again. The reason I have even been bothering to debate on these posts is because I have credited you with the intellectual capacity to review available data and draw rational conclusions. Faith works like a virus and intelligent individuals are by no means immune. Religious Faith usurps the capacity for genuine rational reasoning and objective enquiry and sets in its place an irrational and subjective belief in a superstitious deity, which actually robs the physical world of any true meaning. One's intelligence and reasoning is then criminally misused in an ongoing effort to rationalize and reinforce what is fundamentally an irrational belief. For an intelligent person to maintain utter faith and belief in a fundamentally absurd proposition requires considerably stong minded willfulness. That is why I have never accused anyone I have encountered on this forum of weak mindedness. I have however been entirely accurate and fair in my use of the word 'ignorance'. |
