Judaism ForumEdens Location from JubileesThe River and the Tree of Life were placed in the Garden befor the fall - what were their function? What was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? What was the purpose of God asking man to work the ground? Why do we see the Garden again in Ezekiel’s vision of the Millennial Temple (Ezekiel 47)? What is the purpose of the Tree of Life in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 22) if we are already in heaven and have eternal life? I think you are missing something more significant than just a decision – from my study: “We would contend that the first three chapters of Genesis are far more than unassuming folklore, devised to amuse and instruct our youth with mythological tales of earth's origins and humanity’s fall from innocence. In the context of Eden's Israeli location, they are a mountain cast into a calm sea! This is the first wave, which moves and ripples throughout the pages of scripture, and echoes into the heart of the Adam in all of us. They are a roadmap that permeates the Bible which is entrenched into our very subconscious, providing landmarks and beacons to chart our way back home. The foundational case for Eden’s original Israeli location is based on scriptural arguments, and the geological model simply pieces the missing parts of the picture together beautifully. Joining the four rivers of Genesis 2 together through subterranean water channels via the Great Rift Valley is absolutely compelling when one understands the underlying principles of geology and observes how these river heads flow directly from the transition zones associated with the Great Rift Valley. Jewish tradition has taught that Eden was originally in the land we know as Israel for years, but now we can finally understand how it all worked. This ground breaking work goes further than simply proving the Biblical, scientific and historic cases for Eden’s original Israeli location, but forwards a convincing argument for how this fact effects the way we understand the rest of scripture. Soteriology, Pneumatology, Eschatology, and even Hermeneutics itself all have wide ranging implications that are effected by this Eden in Israel proposition, yet there’s a noble theme that can be found weaving its’ narrative throughout all these fields of endeavor, tying them all together and effecting the very way we live – The message and mandate defining our Inheritance.” |
