Harry Potter Religion
The difference with the Harry Potter corpus is that it offers the foundation of a new Religion an anti Christain Religion. People are largely still huggry for religion, but Christinity is so unsatisfying. It has nothing to offer the modern age and its leaders so obviously do not believe in it.
I have myself at times toyed with the idea of writing a Bible to fit into what people actually wanted from Christainty, but found it impossible since there is nothing of substance in it. There is nothing to work with.
But Harry Potter has it all and obviously this is what Rowling intended.
Examined seriously it is a very interesting world she has created. It is a convincing world in which Religion as we know it does not exist at all - which is prettry much how our world is. The West I mean. It also has no Democracy - which is pretty much how our world is. It is all run by a self electing bureaucracy. There is no good and evil, just us and them. likewise it is like our world.
The magic is no different to the technology which most of us do not underaatnd at all and there si a secret class who are in on the secrets that the poor muggles know notghing of an dthat ios what peopole want froma TReliguion menbership of a powerful secret society. this is why it is the greatest threat to Christianity ever.
