Alrighty then, There is this exchanged student from Uzbakistan.
Uzbakistan is a Muslim country, thus Christians, Buddhists, or any other non-Muslim 'churches' (synagogs whatever!!!) arent allowed there.
She is buddhist because her family is buddhist. Her family owns one misplaced, forgotten bible at home.
I talked with her about her country, culture, heritage, blah, blah.
I asked her if she believed in Jesus...(okay okay I know that must have been ignorant of me but god must have used my ignorance for a good deed this once. yay. ) She said yes...ironically and hey! I ended up not feeling dumb! Praise god!
How do you explain christianity to a buddhist-raised person?(to put it simple)
I told her I was Christian and that I believed in Jesus. She asked me if she could read my bible. 'Hey, sister anything I can do to help!' I thought as I reflected back to what she had told me---about the discrimination of her country.
Well...I lended her my bible...she is reading Genesis...and I was wondering if anyone of you had any suggestion to which book of the bible I should recommend? Notice that she was raised buddhist, so its like feeding a baby similac.
She has heard of the classic genesis stories though: Adam & Eve, Noah's ark, moses perhaps a little bit. Thats really all I know.
