Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesNo OSAS (Revelation 22:19)No, that's not at all what I'm saying. I am saying that if a man starts a church that advocates adultery without knowing that the Bible condemns it, then he is simply preaching what he knows from the Bible (right or wrong). He is not standing there saying "The Bible says sin is acceptable." He is saying "According to what I have read in the Bible, this type of lifestyle is acceptable to God." He is wrong, but he is not saying "sin" is acceptable. I have never called evil good. This comment of yours stems from a lack of understanding what I have written in regards to gay theology not teaching that "sin" is acceptable. This is not teaching that evil is good. To me, it is teaching that it is still possible to sin after you're saved and still remain saved and go to heaven. To the gay theologist, it is teaching that living an acceptable life will not cause you to lose salvation. Again, they are wrong because it is not an acceptable lifestyle, but they are not teaching that "sin" is acceptable. . So, what do you believe the Holy Spirit does to you at the moment of salvation? Is He an inactive participant? See, I believe that at the very same moment that you are confessing with your mouth, the Holy Spirit is baptizing you, applying the righteousness of Christ to your life. So that when I say you are saved at the moment of Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I am also saying that you are saved at the moment of confessing with your mouth. The two do not happen apart from each other. If you do not believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is that act that you quoted from Colossians 1:13, then what do you believe it is? The only answer I have for you is that I have heard it said that it is just as proper to read verse 2 as saying "Every branch that does not bear fruit in Me, He takes away;" In which case the answer is obvious. The interesting thing about this passage is that it seems to contradict your view of losing salvation as well. Verses 2 and 6 both say that branches that are taken away ("lose salvation" according to you) are actually taken away. How does that fit into your belief that the branches make a choice to walk away? According to this parable, if anyone loses salvation, it is because he is taken/thrown away by the Father, not because he has chosen to disconnect himself from the Vine. |
