Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesNo OSAS (Revelation 22:19)Thank you for answering that. I agree, in part, with one thing that gay theology teaches. That is, that Christians are eternally secure. I do not agree with them that homosexuality is not a sin. Do I believe that someone can be gay and still be saved? Yes, because our works do not cause the loss of our salvation, just as our works do not cause the gaining of our salvation. Our works are only an indication of our standing before God. Someone who continues to be gay is living in sin, and has every reason to question whether or not they are really saved. However, since gay theology does not believe that being gay is a sin, then they don’t see themselves as living in sin. Again, I do not agree with that, but that doesn’t mean they are not saved. Put it in another context. Most churches nowadays condone the use of worldly music both in the home and in the church, and most people on this forum seem to agree (evidenced by the fact that I am the only one who seems to ever say anything contrary in the Christian Music forum). I believe this is sin, but they do not. Does this mean that all those people are not saved, because they are doing something that is sin even though they think it is acceptable? No. It simply means that they are Christians who are not aware of what the Bible calls sin. Come on, Aineo. You know full well that we both believe that faith in Christ is the only thing that saves us. Our difference of opinion is not based in what we believe about how to become saved. Our difference of opinion is based on what we believe about how our works after we get saved affect our salvation. (*** warning: simplified versions coming up here, so don’t pick apart my words here ***) You believe that good works after salvation causes us to keep our salvation, and bad works after salvation causes us to lose our salvation. I believe that good works after salvation confirms the fact that we are saved, and bad works after salvation gives us reason to question whether or not we are really saved. |
