Of course the RCC teaches these values, but Protestants had a problem with them. The "sin all you want at night then confess it in the morning and you will be all right" worries Protestants. Of course expecting miserable sinners to go straight for the rest of their lives once converted is a big ask. Perhaps this is why so many drop out of Christianity entirely. The Catholic position seems to have no moral value at all and the Protestant one a standard so high that no one could keep it. A very difficult problem. Keith
