More screaming is not going to make your point and Troy Perry, Mel White, and Billy Graham are more germane to this topic than peppering your posts with stilted Old English phrases.
You see (Omega) you have yet to post who you consider to be only “professors and not possessors of the truth”, which has become your new catch phrase to replace “they were never saved in the first place”.
Have you ever attended a gay Christian church? The central tenet of gay theology is the same as the central tenet of all Christian churches and that is salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I have yet to meet a gay Christian that does not believe in his heart and confess with his mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Now lets see if you can actually address the issue and not go off on one of your rants whose only purpose is to obfuscate Biblical truth in your failed effort to establish a false doctrine.
Jesus said:
John 15
15:1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit. 3 "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. 8 "By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9 "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. 11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. 14 "You are My friends, if you do what I command you. 15 "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you. 17 "This I command you, that you love one another. 18 "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. 22 "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 "He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. 25 "But they have done this in order that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their Law, 'They hated Me without a cause.' 26 "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me, 27 and you will bear witness also, because you have been with Me from the beginning. NAS
One question you have yet to answer is how anyone becomes a branch on the vine that is Christ. A person who is only a professor of the truth and not a possessor of the truth does not abide in Christ therefore such a person was never part of the vine. Jesus is teaching that those who are part of the vine and cease to be productive will be pruned, gathered and burned.
Paul teaches the same concept in Romans 11 only Paul uses natural and wild olive trees as his metaphor. Only gentiles (wild olive) who are possessors of the truth are grafted into the natural olive or is it your contention that the Holy Spirit does not know the difference between those who are merely professors and not possessors of the truth?
You one essential for salvation is:
Romans 10:8-13
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him; 13 for "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." NAS
This is only the beginning of the Christian’s life, the birth pains if you will. What determines our eternal destination is how we live once we are transferred into His kingdom. This is when the “if” statements found in Scripture become of major importance since to maintain our position in the kingdom we must live obedient lives. Those who fall away or depart are those who do so because of tribulation and/or because they follow false teachers (Matthew 24 and 1 Timothy 4). If one is only a professor of the truth then tribulation will not cause them to depart since the Holy Spirit never transferred (Colossians 1:13) them into the kingdom and only possessors of the truth can be lead astray by false teachers who preach false doctrines.
I have not lost this debate since those who truly understand God’s truth fully understand that once we are saved we start a journey, or to use one of Paul’s analogies, start a race that we must finish. God supplies us with the tools but we must use those tools by exercising our faith, which is another essential part of living an obedient life.
OSAS is an outright lie from the pits of hell that gives Christians a false sense of eternal security that is promised only to those who “endure” to the end or live their lives as overcomers.
If you truly love your neighbor you will warn him of the eternal consequences of living in willful sin, which is common among those who truly possess God’s truth and to deny this is to deny reality and live in some neverland that is based on a lie.
Only possessors of the truth can perform miracles, prophecy, and cast out demons in the name of the Lord, yet Jesus is clear that not all who call Him Lord Lord will be saved and this in spite of your appeal to OSAS.
