I am a college junior and have an athiest, jewish, English professor. He consistently tell sof how he doesnt believe in God, mainly because of Predestination. How do I answer questions like these. I'll Quote him:
"God knows everything, or atleast thats the only God worth believing in, so if he knows everything, and made us how we are, and knows what we're going to do, how then do we have free will. Think of it this way, your an author writing a book, you have a character kill someone, but you tell people you had no choice, the character had to murder. If he knows us, made us, and knows what we'll do how then do we have free will?
Seems like to me he is using his free will to not believe in God, so how is he going to understand the omniscience of God?
The difference of the 'author writing a book' is that the characters in the book are not living beings with conscience minds which then does not give them free will.
"God desires all men to be saved" (1Tim 2:4,6)
If he could understand the nature of God then he might be able to understand what is really meant by predestination.
Someone else may have better study than what I could offer.
