looking,
If it were possible for me to open up your brain and pour it full of what I believe and what I know so that you could be as certain of the truth as I am and so that you also could be just like me in every other significant way, do you think that would be a good thing? Not likely! Most people are repelled at the thought of having another person’s thoughts and beliefs and personality forced upon them in such a manner.
Now please consider this: Wouldn’t it be exactly the same if God did things that way or allowed Satan to operate that way! Therefore that means that you must first choose to and then follow through and actually do the hard and never-ending work of learning the truth and of conforming yourself to it. Please do not misunderstand my meaning; I do not say this as an accusation! Rather it is said as an encouragement to keep on doing what it seems you, based on what you have said in your posts, already have been striving to do. Even though your heart and mind are not yet settled it seems to me that you have made some positive, forward moving steps and may be closer than you think. Let me encourage you to keep it up and as you do keep this in mind:
(Matthew 7:7-23) 7 “Keep on asking, and it will be given YOU; keep on seeking, and YOU will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to YOU. 8 For everyone asking receives, and everyone seeking finds, and to everyone knocking it will be opened. 9 Indeed, who is the man among YOU whom his son asks for bread—he will not hand him a stone, will he? 10 Or, perhaps, he will ask for a fish—he will not hand him a serpent, will he? 11 Therefore, if YOU, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to YOUR children, how much more so will YOUR Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?
12 “All things, therefore, that YOU want men to do to YOU, YOU also must likewise do to them; this, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.
13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men].
21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
Regardless of how some versions render it, Jesus did not say, “ask once and it all will be given at once.” What he said was, “Keep on asking . . . keep on seeking . . . keep on knocking, and it will be” etc. The Father will not disappoint his children that really do want to know the truth and demonstrate their true desire by their ongoing efforts and actions. Sadly the situation is that the “many” really do not want to know the truth. Again that is not a personal accusation of anyone but rather a simple statement of truth proved by these words of Jesus: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” If the “many” truly wanted the truth they would heed Jesus’ warning and not follow the easy road rather they would keep asking, seeking, and knocking and the Father would not disappoint them.
looking, you have asked these questions also: “How do you know you have the truth?” “Could someone tell me how you know that you have the truth?” “Tell me what knowledge is the religous world after?”
It may be that you are making the answer harder than it really is. Based on your posts, it appears that you already recognize some of what is not truth. Being able to do that is also a part of coming to know the truth for it is many times easier to explain or “tell” or “know” what is not truth than what is truth. Now add to the verses quoted above the following verses: (John 14:15-17, 21) 15 “If YOU love me, YOU will observe my commandments; 16 and I will request the Father and he will give YOU another helper to be with YOU forever, 17 the spirit of the truth, which the world cannot receive, because it neither beholds it nor knows it. . . . 21 He that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me. In turn he that loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will plainly show myself to him.”
Inspired by “the spirit of the truth” Paul informs us (1 Timothy 4:1-4), “However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth.” The Scriptures are full of many such contrasting explanations and identifications of “the truth” and its fruit and of untruth and its fruit. All you need do is accept them without equivocation.
Another example of “misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons” and another of the identifying marks (fruit) of untruth or false religion is beliefs and teachings that are based on and propagate Satan’s lies and personality. Some of the most common, in fact almost universal, beliefs and teachings of false religion are those based on the first lie: you surely will not die (Genesis 3:4). Modern forms of that lie have sinners never dying but rather living forever in some form or other and being punished to some degree or other. Another form of that same lie teaches that if you die while engaged in fighting and killing someone of another religion or of the same religion but from a different country you do not really die because you are immediately taken to Heaven to live forever (1John 3:12).
On the other side of that same coin is one of the identifying marks (fruit) of truth or the true religion: rejection of beliefs based on Satan’s lies and personality and instead a true drawing close to God and reflection of His personality and characteristics. There are several more of these “coins” if you care to discuss them.
looking, you also said, “Both the quran and the bible have only caused trouble in this world. Im not only talking about this forum. Ive humbled myself and told God that I dont know what is true. The only thing I know is because things are not made clear the whole world is a mess. It is up to God to clear this up for all of man kind, we can not do it! How could we, with what we have to go by? The world needs to humble themselves and admitt that we dont know what is true, and stop fighting over this mess!” Let me reply:
Books are incapable of causing trouble; only intelligent creatures can cause trouble and it is a big mistake to blame God for trouble stirred up by the “many” supposedly acting in his name when these ones have clearly identified themselves by their “worthless fruit,” some of which you have started to recognize.
Developing humility is a step forward for those looking for the truth; here is the next step that goes right along with it: (Acts 8:30-31) “Philip ran alongside and heard him reading aloud Isaiah the prophet, and he said: “Do you actually know what you are reading?” 31 He said: “Really, how could I ever do so, unless someone guided me?” And he entreated Philip to get on and sit down with him.” If you have been asking the Father for help do not make the mistake of rejecting it when it unexpectedly arrives at your door.
Finally, do not underestimate the power of God and his word: (Hebrews 4:12) “For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart.”
