ArchivedSpiritual Peripheral VisionSpiritual Peripheral Vision: In these end times when deception is at its peak, the Sword of the Spirit is a vital necessity to rightly divide the word of Truth and to discard false doctrines that pervade the modern church age. Even in many Christian denominations, many are unified with a common spirit of error and sadly is left in that state because of fear of contention within the congregation, i.e., they are ashamed of the True Gospel. They are confined to erroneous doctrines of their Pastors and Teachers and at the same time fail to realize that a True knowledge of God involves the right belief about Christ and a correct response to God. We should feel compelled to combat heresy and to take heed to continue in sound doctrine and to teach others to do the same, because in doing so we will both save us and others from apostasy. When we diligently study Gods truth in scripture, we are to apply both the literal and spiritual principles of interpretation, close examination of the context of the passage and the rules of grammar, we are to rightly divide "cutting straight" the truth and to properly interpret the word of God in addition to the illumination of the Holy Spirit and constant prayer. We must also examine the fruits of the spirit and their production in the lives of those who are teaching doctrine and pastoring the sheep, the persons life will show evidence of whether of not their life is or is not of God. Personal opinion is oftentimes the most common error of misunderstanding found in those who are misled, this can lead to them being deceived and deceiving and appealing to others who have "itching ears", i.e., those who only hear what they want to hear and not what they need to hear. Gods word is to be properly applied and used to provide the necessity of our ministry, and just because ones personal opinion is in accordance with the opinions of others does not necessarily make it any more truthful, study Gods word for yourself and find the relation of one verse to another which are found all throughout all scripture. Focusing on one scripture and drawing a final interpretation based solely on that verse alone oftentimes keeps us confined to broaden our understanding of the absolute truth of Gods word, this is why we are to go outside the boundaries of what your pastor or fellow Christian brothers and sisters assert as Biblical truths and diligently study the Bible as a Whole for ourselves.
