As I noted before Tuppence, a board moderator, authored a thread called A and non A having to do with creationism/evolution and logic (see:
http://www.jesus-christ-forums.com/home/viewtopic.php?t=6263 ) . Therefore, I duly note your comments about logic and board members interests and I reject them. Clearly, I am not alone in thinking that logic plays a important role in creation/evolution discussion.
Okay, lets take a look at what tuppence wrote:
tuppence wrote:One of the arguments frequently used by evolutionist apologists is that an argument against evolution cannot be construed as an argument for creation.
That is not true. There are only two ideologies on the board here: evolution and creation. If evidence can be shown that one sort of animal did not or could not evolve into another sort of animal, then that is de facto evidence FOR creation. There is no third alternative. Either things developed via natural processes to be what they are or they did not. If they did not, then they were created.
Creationists do NOT argue variation. No one disputes variation. We see it everyday. What is argued about is whether any sort of 'variation' can lead to bacteria or proto-bacteria becoming bears or ferns or bees in however many years.
Since evolution vs. creation is an A/non-A proposition, evidence against evolution will be considered evidence for creation.
This does not mean young earth creation. It simply means some kind of creation by God in the past. Young and old earth/universe creation can argue all sorts of separate matters, but they are agreed that evolution did not happen.

Notice that tuppence is limiting her remarks to evolution, while you are attempting to expand her remarks to include all scientific disciplines. The fact is many ID scientists are not creationists who accept a literal 6 day creation, and that includes committed Christians who are scientists who support ID.
It is my opinion you need to take a lesson from Paul:
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more. 20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law, though not being myself under the Law, that I might win those who are under the Law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, that I might win those who are without law. 22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. 23 And I do all things for the sake of the gospel, that I may become a fellow partaker of it. NAS
If your desire is to communicate what you believe to be true then you must (as Paul did) take your audience into consideration. When knowledge is used without wisdom the knowledge shared is based upon pride and not on the desire to educate.
christianonnet wrote:Lastly, as far as the oxymoron post, I will just say that I believe there are scientists who believe in a young earth and that God supernaturally created "things" (stars, planets, plants, animals, man, etc ) in 7 days and there are scientists who do not believe this. I believe the evidence supports the former scientists and not the latter and I will let readers examine the evidence and make up their own minds regarding this matter.
And just how are you going to share your beliefs? By insulting those who lack your education with your overbearing and pride filled insistence on appealing to logic and your education? The fact is there are more scientists who believe “in the beginning God created” than those who believe God created in 6 days. Have you ever heard of the Discovery Institute? If not you should check out there Internet site:
