to our world. Our overlords do not have such magical means, but they can get rid of dissidents - particularly in the sciences by "defrocking' them - refusing them tenure, publication, etc.
Rowling is a very intelligent woman, well versed in the art of parable. I draw your attention to J.Swifts parables. He was so afraid of political reprecussions that he deposited his manuscript secretly. It has since been dumbed down into a childrens book to hide the political content of the original which is still valid today. Also other examples are Aldous Huxley and Orwell. I would not think Rowling is any less political than they.
What I find sinister is the lack of political discussion of such novels in Academic circles. Keith
