ArchivedQustions about your bible. ...........The fact that Mexican phone books lists a lot of people with the name Jesus is irrelevant to this discussion. The name “Jesus” is a poor attempt to translated the Lord’s Hebrew name into Greek and then into English. Hebrew names mean something and the name “Jesus” does not mean, “God is salvation”, which is what Yehoshua” (our Lord’s Hebrew name), means. You have once again demonstrated your own ignorance of Biblical truth and translation principles used in both the KJV and the NAS. You have also shown that all you want to do is “strive” over words. This is a lie, the fact is the NAS uses the name Jesus 918 times, and His title Christ 521 times. So again you have revealed yourself as a liar. Another outright lie, which I showed you in a previous post. As to speaking evil of dignities, I have posted historical proof that King James dictated how certain Hebrew and Greek words were to be translated. So a homosexual secular monarch influenced how your KJ “authorized version” was translated. You are also totally ignoring that the TR includes Latin manuscripts, which are a product of the Catholic Church, which freely changed the original Greek to harmonize with Catholic dogma. Another fact you are ignoring is that the TR includes some Alexandrian text based manuscripts. The major contention of the KJ only crowd is the NAS and other modern translations use original Greek manuscripts from the Alexandrian texts. I wonder where you are getting your information. The NAS does not have the name “Jesus” but did not “add” Son of God. So you have posted another lie. BTW, are you going to address the mistranslations in the KJV or are you simply going to ignore the fact the KJV contains about 250 mistranslations of the Hebrew and the Greek? How about the way the KJ translators changed word order and dropped names from their translation where women are concerned? The influence of the Textus Receptus of the western texts “anti-feminists bias, is a site you really should check out. In a prior post you made an issue that Westcott or Hort (or both) were humanists. Well GM, so was Erasmus the man who compiled what became the TR. Again all you have demonstrated is your lack of historical knowledge concerning the TR and how it came to be used as the “bible” used to translate the KJ. I would urge anyone who thinks the KJ is the only “inspired” word of God to check out where the TR came from and how it has been corrupted by the Catholic Church. Erasmus was a humanist but he was also a Catholic priest under the authority of the Pope and the truth of the TR is it includes Erasmus’ interpolation of the Latin Vulgate into his editions of the Greek NT that became the TR. So far GM all you have done is show how the NAS and the KJ differ in English with no appeal to the manuscripts used to translate each Bible. The original manuscripts (which are no longer available) are God's inspired truth not the English translation you prefer to use. Are there bad Bible's on the market? Yes, some of the modern paraphrases are nothing but trash that change and dilute God's truth but the KJ is far from perfect or even the best English translation available. Now GM, I am getting tired of your lies. You posted that a moderator edited your posts, which is a lie. You have lied about the NAS removing Jesus Christ and God from the Bible. You have refused to site your sources, and you continue to disregard JCF’s Forum Rules. This is your last warning; your next post that disregards the Forum Rules will be your last. |
