Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslams Pagan OriginsWe muslims do not put emphasis on capitilazation as western Christians do in formal religious writing. Muslims them selves write "the true god" or "the only true god" implying God capitalized. (TA) who also is a muslim scholar(just as Bilal Philips), whom Lane quotes, says: "..the true god.." in denotation of the word Allah. For you to sit here and dictate that he meant pagan god cause he wrote it in small case is ridiculous whereas the context does not support such a thing. Lane did not say in his own words "..meaning god, i.e. the only true god.." but wrote "..meaning God, i.e. the only true god.." His rendered meaning does not incline to your wanton thinking, not to mention the countless times he uses God capitalized for the word Allah through out the entry. |
