Religion teaches tolerance.
Jesus said:
Matthew 10:34-40
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn "'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me."
Matthew 12:30
"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters."
Luke 21:8
He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, "I am he, and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them." I don't think these sound very tolerant. As Christians, we love others as Christ loves us. That does not mean we should condone or tolerate anything but the truth - that Jesus Christ was in the beginning with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, and came to Earth, fully God and fully man, to live a perfect life, die on the cross as atonement for the sins of the world, and was buried. Three days later Jesus rose from the dead and brings life to those dead in their sins. There is to be no compromise in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
