There were many back in the day that only had fragments of the New Testament, so we shouldn't complain when the NIV omits certain passages because of translating from newer manuscripts. The NIV even has footnotes that tells you certain words that were in the older manuscripts (which are also in the KJV). The last point I want to make is, the word of God is not translations or words used. Didn't Jesus say that there will be many that call Him Lord that will not enter the kingdom? Didn't Jesus say that, "This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." (Mark 7:6). The word of God is interpretated through the Holy Spirit not through the carnal mind of man. |
