A prominent Buddhist monk was once asked how he would react if science proved that reincarnation didn't exist. He said that although he doesn't believe that's possible, he would seriously consider the evidence and reevaluate his beliefs. (I'm not positive who this was, it may have been the Dalai Lama)
I bring this up because there's been discussion about whether or not homosexuality is actually genetic. If it this in fact the case, then it must be seriously considered whether God can fault a human being for something they can't control. My question is how would you react if tomorrow, definitive evidence was realeased that scientifically proved homosexuality was an involuntary chemical imbalance/genetic code? Would you reevaluate your beliefs, and look to the Bible for passages that might coincide with this? (Many have claimed that science and a literal interpretation of the Bible do not have to conflict) Or would you claim that the evidence is false, sent by God (or Satan) as a test, and hold to the older interpretations of the Bible? I ask this because every day science is discovering new things, and the true source of homosexuality may not be far off. There may come a time when science blatantly goes against the current literal interpretation of the Bible. Where then will you stand?
