Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslam Is The Fastest Growing Religion... Why???I'll quote you from the most holy speech on earth-- mount sermon. " "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." -- Matthew 43-48 acctually that are loans (not charity), that put country in deficit... When the US helped freeing Europe from the Axis occupation, Europe was layed to waste by the war... poverty was making Europe a barren land. Yet the US (who obviously gained money with that, but who cares it was in return for million of lives!) lended Europe money... and we payed it back in return (or still is doing so). In a similar way, loans are given too smaller countries (who we know can't give it back in the short term) yet many countries who became in trouble with these loans have been pardoned by their debtors. The first 'lending' is common bussiness of every country, pardoning a debt is a very christian value. From the Lord's Prayer "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" -- Matthew 6:12 Next to that Charity is a term in Christian theology (one of the three virtues), meaning loving kindness towards others; it is held to be the ultimate perfection of the human spirit, because it is said to both glorify and reflect the nature of God. In its most extreme form charity can be self-sacrificial. Charity is one conventional English translation of the Greek term agape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charity Charity's isn't something in wich you expect something in return from... The US gives 56% of all the food import to it's mortal enemy North Korea, it donated millions of money too the Tsunami disaster (poor countries who have no economical value and live on tourism), it even helped Iraq with medicin and the food for oil program when Saddam was in power (and wich Saddam and the UN severly messed up). Belgium who is passionatly active in Congo in trying to build a democratic state their, was given by the US (when Bush was on visit) millions out of the US budget to support the Congoloze cause merely by asking. They even gave help to Iran when that massive Earthquake hitteth them in 2003. And these are the things i only remember from the top of my head, if i do the research about all the countries US would give charity too, you'd be amazed... Then again, they do not need to brag about it. "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" -- Matthew 6:3 |
