Isaiah 55:8-9 > "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."
My main point is, do not try to reason out why God would do something through your own understanding. If God did something in the Old Testament you do not like, don't say things like "the teachings of god in the Old Testament are not like the teachings of God in the New Testament." God has not changed, and let Him do what He pleases. If He says to sacrifice someone you love for Him, or do something which seems to the human mind totally illogical, we are to do it anyway because He is God, and His word is above our feelings. That was my point.
I understand, thank you Alpha. I agree that if God tells us to do something we mustnt question him. But I do believe that if God tells us to do something we must question if it is actually God who told us to do it. I suppose the question becomes how do we determine whether God is telling us to do something or if it is someone else? Can we use things like Logic, Feelings, History, etc, to determine if God is the one who is telling us his command?
