Muslim..Out ReachThe idea of the Trinity! :: answers...answers... Here Jesus spoke of Himself with the identity of a fellow israelite. He said "us", and that means Himself and the people of Israel. It is like what you said(in another forum), when the Queen of England addresses herself as a "we", she is referring to her and people who are listening to her speeches. It is not that Jesus had a higher God than Him, it is about his identity as a fellow israelite(and a fellow human. Remember, when Jesus is on earth, He is as God as He is human.Or He won't be worthy even if He is crucified, as He won't feel pain, and also means not humbling Himself, and defeating the purpose of salvation. God sent Him to feel the pain of humans, so He is worthy of being the Savior and the Holy One, whom even though is without sin, is regarded as sinful by humans and made to suffer. The purpose of Jesus(a God) coming to earth is to suffer for the sins of others, so others may be salvaged. If He is human only, such a great sacrifice would be worthless.) In a more complete manner, Jesus said," Touch Me not; for I am not yet ascended to My Father: but go to my brethren , and say unto them , I ascend unto My Father; and to My God; and to Your God." Notice this sentence "Touch Me not; for I am not yet ascended to My Father", well, that means, After I ascend, Touch (worship) Me. Jesus came to humble Himself to earth, and to give salvation, what is the point of declaring Himself as a God if He came to humble Himself. But people know that He is God, and that is why the next verse says" Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she has seen the Lord(in capital L, just like How people of the old testament used to address God)...." Yes, God the Father is Jesus' God because He is also a Human at that time, even though He is a God. He spoke with the identity as a fellow human being. I don't see this sentence in the Bible "Can't GOD do anything he wills?" And I don't know what you meant either. Real sentence is "I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father hath taught me, I speak these things" Remember, Jesus was born through a human virgin, with the Holy Spirit. In short, Whatever He does as a human being, is taught by God, through the Holy Spirit, which is the main Spirit of both God and Jesus. As Jesus is also a human, His human Being is taught by the Holy Spirit. If in the next few posts I put a quoted sentence before the explanation, it is the original verse in the Bible. Here it goes for this one: " ...I go unto the Father, for My Father is greater than I... " Jesus who came to humble himself to earth as a human being cannot say that He is greater than the Father? But when he goes to heaven, He'll be like the Father. Jesus' Holy spirit is ascending towards the Father Who is in Heaven(leaving His human nature behind), to rule the world again. I see nothing wrong with this sentence. Because Jesus humbled Himself as a human before He rose again and He feels pain. His human self is telling Him that it is going to be really painful. And that is why He is scared. And "pass the cup to death", means let Him not experience His earthly death on the cross. Same explanation, Jesus is afarid of the pain. Ok, three possibilities: 1)Jesus did answer Him, but it was not written in the Bible. 2)Jesus Felt that Pilate would not understand, no matter what Jesus said. It is like us when we are trying to convince people concerning the trinity. Matt13:13 (and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand) 3)Pilate is asking but is not expecting a reply and went off on his own. This is like, when you are fed up with someone's actions and you just can't comprehend his thinking. You say "Why did you do this?" and then go off in confusion and doing your own thinking. In this case Pilate is confused by Jesus when He said " Thou sayest I am a king(which means You say rightly I am a King). Note this is also a proof that Jesus is saying that He is God, a King, in a more indirect manner)..." you should have posted this previous verse. Not including Jesus, Because the Spirit of the Father is within Jesus. He is born of the Spirit of the Father? Jesus knew "The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him... His delight is in the fear of the Lord..." I believe those are important verses to show that God's Spirit is Jesus' Spirit. Readers might want to refer to the previous explanations, these verses apply. Jesus is made to fear the Lord because He will be humbled as a part Human being. Many others besides Jesus? I can't find any? The Lord is referring to Jesus only. When you want to be witnessed... You don't usually do it yourself... do you? You ask someone to be a witness, right? Because He wants to try His best to kill His human self and resist worldly temptations(He is partly human). He wants the Holy Spirit's guidance to teach His Human self, the will of the Father. Because God had assigned one individual in the trinity to give salvation to the people. Nothing is wrong with God witnessing Jesus'(also a God of the trinity but different individual) actions, is there? No one else can bear witness ? Only God is worthy of witnessing such a great deed. I think You quoted the wrong verse. But anyway, even if that is true, His followers were referring to God the Father in Heaven. Jesus is partly Human and He is also afraid of pain like you and me. God the Father is in Heaven. You can only see Jesus because He is also in Human form. You can't see the Holy Spirit's and Father's true form without anointing. Or you'll die of His Glory because of your (and me and everybody else's) sinful nature. "No one hath seen God at anytime; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the father, He hath declared Him." Ok, The Spirit of the father is in Jesus, Isaiah11:2 , Jesus is born of the Holy Spirit (Spirit of The Father). So where there is Father and Jesus, there is the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:18 ) plus that your very quotation in a more corrected manner "the only Begotten Son(of God), which is IN the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him (to show that Jesus is the only One who has seen God. That verse speaks perfectly of the trinity before He was born as a human, don't you think?), A normal Human do not have the privilege, ability (so you don't die) and Holiness to see God before he was born?[/b] |
