it is an object...
I am not very sure about kissing things.... they are only objects.... be it the bible or the quran, only objects.... But why would anyone kiss the quran or the bible. What matters is what is inside. If it is a form of respect, I really can't understand why the pope would kiss something of different teachings. I wouldn't feel sinful if I accidentally kiss the quran, but if there is some genuine respect (perhaps almost like worship) out of it....or doing what the pope does, it would be otherwise. The "respect" I mean is not as bad as people might think, it is much milder...(not picking a fight)Muslims do not have 100% respect for the bible because they belief some of it is not true, that is the same way I feel towards the quran since I don't believe 100% in it.But I have much more respect in the quran than the buddhist teachings because of the respect for God in it. But not to the extent of kissing the quran. I don't even kiss the bible, it is only an object made by human hands. It is the words which are important, not the book. Ultimately, if you kiss an object out of "worshipping respect", it would be a sin.
