Aburaees, I would have to read all the hadeeths all over again which would take me another 3 years to complete from Bukhari to Thirmidhi. There are hadeeths that express the gap period that mentions nothing of Aisha's age. I have never ran into this issue in question of it.
Agreed, it's not an easy task.
H2O wrote:You know as well as we know when it comes to "hear say" after almost 2 centuries the expectation of truth and fabrication is cautioned.
Absolutely.
H2O wrote:What matters here is this, we have hadeeth reports that have flaw and are contradicted in the age of Aisha. However from what I am understanding in your words if the age report is unreliable then the rest of the hadeeth must be also unreliable. Verily this can be true but also it can be false.
Agreed.
H2O wrote:Lets just say you are right, we reject every report altoghether that speaks about her age and its context. What do we have ? We have our Quran which I used in the very begining to eradict everything as the Quran has supreme authority over any hadeeth.......
Ok...
H2O wrote:*The Quran confirms that Aisha was not prepubescent when the Prophet married her as he did not break the Marriage to conform to the command.
Agreed, she could have reached menarche by 9 years old.
H2O wrote:*The Quran also confirms she was a woman as the command tells us to marry women.
Agreed, Islamically she could have been a woman at 9 years old.
H2O wrote:*Hadeeth confirms Aisha reached the age of puberty before the Hijrah when she was still living in Makkah with her family
Agreed, but may noy have reached menarche yet.
H2O wrote:* Aisha was engaged to Jubair son of Mut`am ibn `Adi, an elder, before our Prophet was engaged to her, which was in the makkah period way before the Hijrah. Thus it was a normal things among Arabs for elder men to mary woman at Aisha age at that time. Her Father Abu Bakr was in support of the engagement prior to the prophets engagement to her.
Agreed, though her father did question the marriage at first, until his friend Muhammad insisted that Aisha was lawful for him.
H2O wrote:........Now we get to the age thing. Lets use our heads and use math.
When was Aishaa born ? 613-614 aprox. (undisputed)
Ok...
H2O wrote:How old was she and the year when our Prophet passed away ? 18-19 in 632 (unidsputed)
Ok...
H2O wrote:When did the Prophet get marriage to Aisha ? 2 years after the hijrah in 622-623
What here is meant by marriage? Just a Nikkah, or the whole package including consummation?
H2O wrote:The above are undisputed date periods. It is plain MATH. The Math show she was 9-10 years of age, not 6, when the prophet married her.
Yes, she was married at 9 as a marriage isn't complete until it is consummated. She had only been betrothed to him at the age of 6.
H2O wrote:When did the prophet consume the marriage ? We have no idea the sources, counting about 7 six are reported by the same person and one from an assosiate, are unreliable cause her age is contradicted by the time period of events.
They don't contradict. Technically she wasn't married until her marriage was consummated. By this reckoning she was 9 when she got married.
The other narrators complement the history by saying that the marriage had been written in contract three years earlier.
