Christian/Muslim ThreadsTrinity the Real TruthHere G-d is speaking of Cyrus, not the Messiah. Jesus obviously did not filfil any of this. This is a transnational butchery. It should say “My Lord, Hashem/Elohim, has sent me with His spirit. This doesn't mean G-d is actually in them. It’s nothing more than interpreting something to make it fit your theology. This is completely wrong. The Jews do look forward to the Messiah coming but the only salvation found in the Messiah is the knowledge of G-d and Torah he will bring. The best question you can ask a christian is, ‘Where in the Hebrew scriptures does it say that worshipping or even following the Messiah is a requirement for salvation?’. This is the ultimate stumper because it’s simply not there. The verses they will give you are very easy to pick apart. Here Jesus is clearly speaking metaphorically. He is speaking about the Father being in him because he is doing the Father’s will through deeds. He is exorting them to do as he does. And if the Father was literally in him why does the very next verse state, “;because I go unto my Father.”? So is the Father in him or not? If the Father is in him how can he go to Him? t can basically come down to the very basics of Jewish belief. What will the Messiah do when he comes? 1) He will gather all the Jews back to a unified Israel. 2) He will rebuild the Temple. 3) He will usher in a universal knowledge of the One True G-d. 4) We will beat our swords into plows. And peace will reign. Jesus did none of these and he fulfilled none of the prophecies in the Jewish scriptures. Christians say there are some 300+ prophecies Jesus fulfilled. Most of these speak of Israel and not Jesus. They like to point to the most vague prophecies that they can more easily twist to talk about Jesus. The best thing to do with Christians is to stick to the most basic of prophecies. And if they give you the second coming run around tell them to show where G-d told us he would take a 2,000+ year coffee break? It’s not there and easily refuted. When given the ultimate sacrifice business about Jesus dying for our sins point out to them: 1) Human sacrifice is forbidden. 2) Blood is not a requirement as a sin offering and is in fact the lowest sacrifice. A blood sacrifice can’t even take away intentional sin. 3) Sacrifices must be made at the Temple. Jesus was nowhere near the Temple. 4) The sacrifice must be carried out by the Temple priests. The Romans killed Jesus. 5) A sacrifice must be done by cutting the throat and bleeding. Jesus died of asphyxiation. 6) The sacrifice must be spotless. Jesus was scourged. 7) The blood of the sacrifice has to be sprinkled on the alter in the Temple. Didn’t happen. And going beyond Jesus’ death ask them what supposedly happened when Jesus died? There was a great earthquake, the Temple curtain ripped in two and saints rose from the grave and walked around town. Wow! And yet, no one thought this was worth writing down? You would have though such a huge occurrence would have moved at least someone else to jot it down. Shoot, even the Jews would have written it down. Yet all we have is the four gospels. And if this really did happen their would have been MASS conversions to the belief that Jesus was the Messiah. The Temple priests themselves would not have been able to deny his Messiahship and would have declared it so. Here is a site that has the best comparison of what the Messiah would do and what Jesus did not do. http://www.messiahtruth.com/wanted.html |
