In the beginning of this tread Abdullah posted a range of claims as to dismiss the Four Gospels and the rest of the books in the Bible as forgeries.
His main source is ‘allaahuakbar.net’, a Muslim site, which makes a lot of historical errors and theological fallacies.
In dealing with Christianity it mixes between Theophilus of Luke and a bishop name Theophilus, which lived at least four centuries later; is it really possible that individuals who attempt in informing others about the truth via whole websites are able to commit such errors????????
The website also makes a range of silly claims about Shia Muslims and various Islamic organisations, such as Hizb-ut-tahreer. Even though I make no claims to favour such diabolical organisation as hizb-ut-tahreer, it still reveals the integrity allaahuakbar.net to claim that members of hizb-ut-tahreer are permitted according to Islam to watch pornography or nudity.
It seems like this website, despite of much correctness though, simply takes issues over the edge, as clearly revealed from the post Abdullah is presenting to us.
I think it is fair to say that Abdullah might soon play with his integrity in ways similar to Abdurrahman, who simply finds it to difficult in giving an adequate defence for his polemical propositions; well, Abdullah seems to utilize the same tactic.
Anyway I will here deal with the very beginning of Abdullah’s post, that of the Gospel’s being corrupt generally, but with a focus on the Gospel of Mark.
Later, God-willing I will proceed in dealing with his copied material on Luke, John and various of the other Biblical books.
Abdullah wrote:
First i would like to start off to show that the Bible isnt as it was since the time it was revealed but Texts were added and deleted. I will show proof using Your own Bible Commentary.
"And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites(Jews), which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death ye will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 31:25-29)"
Kai replies:
Exactly where do you detect the actual corruption of Scripture in this passage??????????????
Could you please expound more on this?
If you bothered to read the context and the analogy you would see that the passage merely describes rebellion and against the commands of God, rebellion which includes the worship of idols, adultery and marriage to non-believers.
In your typical dishonesty of excluding the context, you left out for example verse 16:
‘You are going to rest with your fathers, and these people will prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them’.
If you look at
verses 14 and 23 you will see reference to Joshua, and the same prediction is given in Joshua and is indeed fulfilled with in the book of Joshua and Judges, which overlap.
Thus the passage has got nothing do with the Bible corruption.
And again, lets say you were correct, if the Jews corrupted the book in the time of Moses or later, or even prior to the arrival of Muhammad, then what would that reveal about the integrity of the Koran?
“Say, O people of the book! You are not founded on anything until you perform the Torah and the Gospel, and what was revealed to you from your Lord”. (Al-Ma’ida 5:68-71)
If the Torah was corrupted prior to Muhammad, then which Torah is Muhammad referring to here? Are you saying that the Jews in Muhammad’s time are to put their trust in and perform a corrupted Torah?
Give me a break!!!!!! I simply don’t think so! Your whole argument is inconsistent and debunked.
So much for Alluakbar.net
