ArchivedCatholicismwell alot denominations have theological issues wich seperate them... Calvinists = Limited Atonement, Lutherans = The use and dissuse of apocrypha because he 'felt' like it was or wasn't inspired, Anglicans = have the king and queen of England at the head of the church, Catholics = purgatory, the pope, etc... if i take the firm arguments from the catholics against the protestants, and the firm protestant arguments against the catholics... then no christian denomination on earth is correct and each denomination will defend these with scriptual interpretations against yours... yet in my opinion these little differences are in no way that big that they make salvation unatainable, truth lays in the middle... that is my main argument, that if salvation stays for all of them, then they are christian then they are saved... scripture is made for reproof, correction, etc... we need these disputes about scripture too keep christianity and the scriptures sharp. but it doesn't make one side less christian then the other in the process. PS: the doctrine of purgatory is based upon praying to the death, so it's not like it's entirly off topic |
