Christian/Muslim ThreadsBible Corruption and Who are the Real Authors? :: Re: Bible Corruption and Who are the Real Authors?Abdullah wrote:"And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites(Jews), which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death ye will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 31:25-29)"
"Although there is no direct internal evidence of authorship, it was the unanimous testimony of the early church that this Gospel was written by John Mark. (From the NIV Bible Commentary, page 1488)"
UNANIMOUS testimony? It was based on an assumption it was written by Mark, and The Bible was documentated 100-150 years after Jesus went to heaven.
What does John Mark have to do with Deuteronomy?
As to the balance of your post all you have demonstrated is you are so desperate to disprove the inerrancy and authority of the Bible that you have to critique a few minor details without addressing the full message of the Bible. There are over 26,000 full and partial manuscripts of the books of the Bible and even with what you view as discrepencies the fact remains no essential doctrine is altered by any of these supposed additions and deletions. The fact that some of the books do not mention the authors name only indicates they were humble enough to give God and Jesus Christ first position in their writings instead of seeking self-serving glory in the eyes on men.
As to Paul not being one of the original 12 apostles, so what? He was personally called by Jesus Christ to carry the gospel to Jews and gentiles. The fact Peter writes that Paul's epistles are equal to the rest of Scripture is something you seem to want to ignore. 2 Peter 3:14-18
14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, 15 and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. NAS
