ArchivedHomosexual AgendaI also know people who have been abused in childhood and are straight, the determining factor is “personality” and how each individual internalizes or handles the abuse (for instance my 2 ever-straight brothers). I also know ex-gays who cannot identify any childhood trauma who have made the transition from 100% gay to 100% straight. In the final analysis it all comes down to self-determination and what we want and think we can achieve. Those who start this journey with unrealistic expectations or lack of real motivation will fail and then lay the blame on genes, or homophobic Christians. I am amazed at the number of gays, activist or not, who label me homophobic only because I am an evangelical Christian who has made up my own mind and followed through to reach a goal I set, not to please anyone but the Lord and myself. I told my pastor recently I feel like an Oreo since I have homophobic Christians on one side and rabid gay activists on the other with me in the middle trying to educate both extremes. 8) Not all...not all at all I have more than a few friends who are christian and wonderfull people. But a good deal of them yes I do label them as that and only because its true i mean face it I did spend a good deal of life going to church.[/quote]One of my favorite quotes is from Chuck Swindoll, it goes like this: “Just like being in a garage does not make you a car; filling a pew (I will add filling a pulpit) does not make you a Christian.” Mainline denominations have been teaching and promoting doctrine more than Biblical truth for centuries. Would you agree that one reason for this is they have to try harder than the average child to achieve? I know Donald was more introspective and analytical than the rest of us since he had to be a lot more focused on communication even before he started school. |
