ArchivedAn interesting logo...So you're saying that God would rather see a child die of starvation then see it's parents steal food to feed it? In my opinion the 'You shall not steal' commandment has an exception, in this case. Apparently God is a loving god not a vengeful god. I highly doubt that when the parent that stole food for it's child dies and is standing before God he will say to him "Well, you stole so my hands are tied" and send him to Hell. God will look at stealing in this case as a good deed, a self-sacrifice to some extent because this man/woman defied even the law of God because they loved their child so much. I will agree that stealing is wrong but to save the life of another one will do almost anything. I truely believe that in the case of stealing to save another God would not look upon it as a sin This can be used for my argument about stealing too. To love God is to simply do what it says, love God. Is it not possible that someone stealing to feed their family is also very religous? It's safe to say that if your religous in any way you have a constant love and respect for God. As for the 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself' commandment, this is also relevent. Would a person steal to feed a family they don't love? I don't think so. Once again, I will repeat that I believe stealing is a wrong act but if one must steal to survive then I believe God will not look upon it as a sin. |
