However, BeBe, you are mistaken about the Apocrypha, it was in fact translated by the Septuigent BC and contains writings dated centuries before Christ.
Many Jewish scholars did in fact consider some apocryphal writings to be scriptural...the catholic bible council relies on the fact that the "pre-Jesus" Jews accepted the apocrypha as scripture, as their reason they accept it.
However, although some Greek Jewish scholars translated apocryphal texts along with the rest of the old test scripture, does not mean that its "canonical"...I just want to make sure you know, these books were not "floating around" in 70-90 AD, but in fact WAY BC
the Gospel of Barnabus, nor the "Q Gospel" were considered "apocryphal" texts.
The word actually means "HIDDEN" ...just FYI
