Science, Creation & Evolutiontuppence, Hemi here.Tuppence, I've stayed out of the whole 'Young Earth' / 'Old Earth Conversation' because I'm not a scientist, and haven't taken a science class since being an undergraduate in college. Engineering, Biology, Physics, Astro Physics etc. have never been my field of study. I find it interesting because I'm a Sci-Fi fan but don't come even close to understanding it when you go beyond the basics. (things like 'C' and so on) I do however believe in evolution because the majority of 'credible scientists' (no slight against our husband) agree the evolution is the most logical explination with regard to the changes we've seen on our planet over time. Here's my disagreement. You and your husband seem to be some-what knowledgeable with regard to science. Being scientists (at least any that I've known) I'd think you'd welcome debate with regard to your theories. Via debate we strengten our position or amend our previously held beliefs based on evidence. This is the foundation of discovery. Scientists are always trying to prove or disprove a peers theories. Further I've read some of your posts between a couple of the others and it seems because of some bad manners your willing to end the conversation and disable someone's posting priviledge. Please explain as a scientist why you would: 1) discourage dissenting opinion 2) be offended and willing to stop a conversation because of some bad manners that DID NOT include profanity which I agree is unacceptable here. With regard to people disabeling a web site, I don't see how's that possible, then again I'm not a computer engineer either. I can see again someone being obnoxious in their postings and stopping that but someone who's 1/2 way knowledgeable regarding science again, I'd assume you'd encourage the opportunity to strengten your position since you obviously believe strongly in Young Earth Creationism. |
