Science, Creation & EvolutionCloning a precursor to the AntichristThe book of Revelation is highly figurative and the writer John had to record the things he was shown in first century vocabulary. For example, in Revelation chapter 8 it reads: "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter [poison]." (Rev 8:10,11) Since I am Ukranian, in the Ukranian language version of the same verse above the name for "Wormwood" is "Chernobyl". Thus, the verse could read as translated from the Ukranian language: "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of water; And the name of the star is called [Chernobyl]: and the third part of the waters became [Chernobyl]; and many men died of the waters, because they were made poison [by Chernobyl]." I think everyone here is familiar with the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in the Ukraine. I believe John in these verses was describing a nuclear missile as it re-enters the atmoshere which would look like a burning star falling. Notice John said "as it were a lamp". He did not say it was a lamp. John frequently used the terms "it looked like" because he was trying to describe what I believe was a literal vision of 21st century warfare using first century vocabulary to describe it. |
