Child Molestation is a Sin!what right does anybody have to call it a sinYou are confusing an orientation with behavior. Heterosexuals have an orientation that they can choose to act on or not to act on. Remember this is a Christian website and we believe that same gender sexual relationships are sinful, which makes my analogy accurate. I did not post that dealing with a gay orientation is a choice. justforfun000, I will repeat and maybe our gay visitors will actually read what I post. Dealing with a homosexual orientation is not a choice. I fully understand this to be a fact. As a self-identified atheist who are you to tell us that God created anyone gay? If God created sin then God would be hypocritical in judging behavior (such as adultery) that He labels sinful. I vaguely remember incidents that happened before I was 7 that with what I have learned in the last 54 years would have alerted me to my developing sexuality. So to use a church phrase “you are preaching to the choir” concerning the early development of a gay orientation. Now I also know why I developed a gay orientation. But then I have actually read a lot of books from both sides of this issue with an emphasis on secular sources so that I could make an informed decision versus an emotional decision. What you seem to think are the roots of homosexuality have been disproved by many experts in human sexuality. How a child perceives his/her environment is a contributing factor to how a child develops emotionally and in reference to their sexual orientation. Contrary to the media frenzy over Dean Hamer’s published research in 1992 science has yet to identify a gay gene. BTW, Hamer never claimed to have found a gay gene he reported he identified a genetic marker on the X29 chromosome in 80% of his research universe. A research universe his peers found lacking in true science since Hamer did not have a control universe. In addition to this no other molecular geneticist was able to duplicate Hamer’s research and neither was Hamer. For a professed Christian who desires to live a truly righteous life and has a gay orientation their only option is to live a celibate life or investigate the possibility of changing their orientation. Some can and have others have tried and failed. Why some succeed and others fail is a valid question that no can answer. However, there are men and women who are either celibate or in loving heterosexual marriages that have chosen not act on their gay desires in obedience to God’s word. And this gentlemen is where choice enters the picture. |
