Christian/Muslim ThreadsIf the Bible is so corruptedHinduism originated about 2,000 years before Christ. It has no founder, no central authority, and no fixed creed. There are about 350 million followers, almost all living in India. Hindus look and listen to nature, and worship the powers they see at work in nature. They assign personal deities to them. They are Polytheistic, believing in as many as 300,000,000 gods. And they have idols for multitudes of them, being the most extreme idolaters in the world. In the 8th Century BC, their nature worship was codified in scriptures, and came to be known as the "revealed wisdom". It is composed mostly of prayers addressed to the personified powers of nature. They believe in the primary power in nature is what they call the "sole Reality, the immortal, infinite, eternal, inscrutable, impersonal Absolute" and the name they give it is "the Brahma". |
