burwelm, if you read Romans 1 with understanding you will find a progression of sinful behavior. An increase in the acceptance of homosexuality is always preceded by a decrease in heterosexual morality and Romans points this out.
If you take the time to study Greek history you find that Alexander was indeed primarily attracted to men, which makes him a gay man and although as a king he had wives and at least one son that was to insure his dynasty had an heir.
The root causes of homosexuality are as varied as the people who identify as gay. There is no single cause. Scientists are attempting to identify any genetic componant to homosexuality, but without any real success and with few exceptions the scientific view is that homosexuality is the result of environment, biology, and personality.
