Lieing for the sake of islam al taqiyya

Islamic concept of Al-Taqiyah to infiltrate and destroy kafir countries
According to Al-Taqiyah, Muslims were granted the Shar'iyee right (legitimacy) to infiltrate the Dar el-Harb (war zone), infiltrate the enemy's cities and forums and plant the seeds of discord and sedition. These agents were acting on behalf of the Muslim authority at war, and therefore were not considered as lieing against or denouncing the tenents of Islam.
They were "legitimate" mujahedeen, whose mission was to undermine the enemy's resistance and level of mobilization. One of their major objectives was to cause a split among the enemy's camp while downplaying the issues related to Islam ("Oh, I am not religious." "Oh, that is not Islam, you are mistaken, there is so much misinformation." "Oh, it is in the interpretation." "Brother, Islam is all about peace and love and music just like in the 60s.") In many instances, they convinced their targeted audiences that Jihad is not aimed at them, that indigenous people are not targeted. Meanwhile the (allegedly) "un Islamic" Muslims continued their attacks on the target's property and life (e.g. Lashkar-e Toyiba, Mujahideen and Osama Bin Laden's
declaration of war against innocent American civilians).

These are examples of a practice known as taqiyya, which essentially means to lie for the sake of Islam. The intention is to deceive unbelievers about Islam, for the explicit purpose of assuaging doubts and concerns about Islam, and encouraging conversion. Taqiyya underlies the whole gamut of Muslim propaganda which is disseminated in the West, from the claim that Islam promotes equal rights for women, to the attempts at inflating the perceived number of Muslims. All are designed to draw people to Islam, by hook or by crook. The example given before of the Durham imam who went so far as to claim that he would be compelled by his religion to prevent a vandal from destroying the property of a church or synagogue is a typical example of taqiyya. It was said in a public forum for the express purpose of giving an appearance to the Islamic religion which does not reflect reality. Certainly, as has been seen, the historical attitudes of Muslims toward churches and synagogues has NOT been to protect them from vandalism, just the opposite is in fact the case. But, the lie must be told in the public forum so as to present Islam in a positive and tolerant light which will appeal to Westerners, which will cause them to believe that the image of Islam as an intolerant and violent religion are just myths created by Islam's enemies to defame the True Faith.
This sort of sanctified dishonesty is also justified in the minds of many Muslims on the basis that everyone else who opposes Islam is lieing. For many Muslims, it is absolutely inconceivable that anyone could ever reject Islam on logical or rational grounds, therefore to claim to do so indicates a failing in intelligence or morality on the part of the infidel. Schuon quite insightfully illuminates us to the attitude of the Muslim mind,
"The intellectual - and thereby the rational - foundation of Islam results in the average Muslim having a curious tendency to believe that non-Muslims either know that Islam is the truth and reject it out of pure obstinacy, or else are simply ignorant of it and can be converted by elementary explanations; that anyone should be able to oppose Islam with a good conscience quite exceeds the Muslim's imagination, precisely because Islam coincides in his mind with the irresistible logic of things."27
This insight elucidates many things which those who deal with Muslims on a regular basis can readily observe. It explains why Muslim apologetic defense of Islam is so often very elementary, even childish, in its presentation, and often quickly breaks down into name-calling against the infidel who has refuted Islamic arguments. It enlightens us as to why Muslims will loudly trumpet the "logic" and "rationality" of Islam while simultaneously defending their faith with circular reasoning and other errors of logic. This is why Muslims can, without any apparent irony, claim that Islam is a "religion of peace", even when the testimony of both history and current events bellows the opposite. For most Muslims, the idea that an infidel could reject Islam because of a sincere concern for knowing the truth is absolutely inconceivable. Hence, the infidel must be lieing when he or she present facts and arguments against Islam, and the infidel must be an especially tricky liar when the facts and arguments cannot be answered by the Muslim. Hence, the resort to taqiyya to turn aside infidel lies so that the logic of truth, a priori defined as anything Islamic, will stand firm.
Taqiyya goes beyond mere lieing for propaganda purposes. The word comes from a root meaning "to guard against, to keep (oneself)". It thus also includes dissimulation by the Muslim to give the appearance of not being religious, so as not to arouse suspicion. In this vein, a Muslim, if necessary, may eat pork, drink alcohol, and even verbally deny the Islamic faith, as long as he does not "mean it in his heart". If the end result of the lie is perceived by the Muslim to be good for Islam or useful to bringing someone to "submission" to Allah, then the lie can be sanctioned through taqiyya. As al-Tabbarah writes,
"Lieing is not always bad, to be sure; there are times when telling a lie is more profitable and better for the general welfare, and for the settlement of conciliation among people, than telling the truth. To this effect, the Prophet says: 'He is not a false person who (through lies) settles conciliation among people, supports good or says what is good."28
The taqiyya concept is also found in the Qur'an,
"Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah." (Surah 3:2)
Here, the Muslims are warned against taking unbelievers as friends, except if it will be beneficial to the Muslims as a way of defending Islam against its perceived enemies or preventing loss or danger from coming upon the Muslim because of his faith. In other words, the end justifies the means. If a Muslim must give the outward appearance of not being a Muslim, or must go against the general principle of not befriending infidels, then this is acceptable under the taqiyya doctrine. Keep in mind also that what is defined as "good" by the serious Muslim will be anything that aids the spread and eventual triumph of Islam over competing religions and ideologies. As such, this would tend to encourage infiltration of non-Muslim countries and institutions by Muslims who might pretend to support the organisations they join, but who are really working to undermine these for the greater goal of establishing Islam as supreme. Obvious recent examples of this sort of activity would be the misuse of their positions and access to information by Muslim members of America's armed forces, several of whom have been caught and arrested while attempting to pass information along to al-Qaeda and other militant Islamic terrorist organisations.
Perhaps related to its false presentation of itself is the Islamic tendency towards discouraging open inquiry about itself, by which is meant inquiry that is not shepherded by some sort of Muslim religious authority or a Muslim already well-versed in Islamic dogma. This is most plainly seen in the Islamic teaching that the Qur'an cannot be translated out of Arabic. Per strict Islamic traditional teaching, when the Qur'an is translated into some other language, it instantly ceases to be the true Qur'an, becoming instead a document which has had the admixture of man's thoughts and words interjected into it (presumably as a result of the translation process). Only the Qur'an in Arabic, according to Islam, is the true word of Allah. As a result, there are millions of Muslims all over the world who do not know Arabic, and who, when they respond to the muezzin call and hear the Qur'an chanted in Arabic, have not the slightest idea what is really being said. These people have to rely upon an imam or other religious leader to tell them what the Qur'an says, and what it means. Through this means, Islam maintains and enforces the submission of millions of non-Arab Muslims who have to rely upon the Arabic-speakers for knowledge of what their religion teaches and what their holy book says. Because of this teaching, Islam can be said to take on a role as a knowledge control cult much like the Jehovah's Witnesses (who are "encouraged" to read only what the Watchtower Society publishes) or other cults where independent examination of the religion's doctrines are discouraged or prohibited.
This sort of attitude is exactly what is presented in the Muslim traditions, too. In the Qur'an, we find that Muslims are encouraged not to ask hard questions about their own religion, and the reason is because they might lose their faith in Islam if they do,
"O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith." (Surah 5:101-102)
This discouragement to open questioning is also seen in the ahadith, one of which records that Mohammed was asked about some matters which he did not want to have to answer, and got so angry when the questioner persisted that he grew enraged, red in the face29. Other statements in the ahadith also record Mohammed's adverse reaction to being challenged on the things he taught30. Maududi, one of the most prominent theologians of Islam in the modern age, likewise encourages Muslims to leave off asking the difficult to answer questions about their faith31. The tendency against open questioning and willingness to examine the beliefs of Islam suggests to us that Islam is not really interested in people investigating Islam for the truth's sake (despite what many a Muslim making dawah might say). Rather, it tells us that Islam seeks to suppress its internal inconsistencies and embarrassing teachings, things which might cause the Muslim to doubt his faith and even apostasise if he were to dwell on them.

Assallamu `Alaykum,
Today, I would like to present the concept of "al-Taqiyya" in the
following exposition. This topic is as thorny as previous ones have
been, and many people have experienced great difficulty in trying to
understand it. I pray to Allah (SWT) that this discussion will help loosen
some of the intellectual rust that has accumulated over the years in many
peoples' minds. The interminable negative propaganda that people are
bombarded with on a daily basis serves to nurture feelings of animosity and
disbelief towards the Shia; additionally, it may promote the explicit
denial of proven facts and truths. Nonetheless, you owe it to yourself to
search for the truth; and, indeed, Allah (SWT) has commanded that you do.
As such, it is your prerogative to believe or reject everything that the
Shia claim; but my plea is that the next time you hear a discussion about
the Shia in your Mosque, or any place else, please remember my posts, and
question the person who is discussing the topic. Only then, will you see my
point, In Sha' Allah (SWT).
I intend to demonstrate and prove that the concept of "al-Taqiyya" is an
integral part of Islam, and that it is NOT a Shi'ite concoction.
As usual, the two perspectives, the Sunnis and the Shia, will be presented
to maintain a level of fairness and integrity in the reporting of this
topic.
============
Introduction
============
The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one's
beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a
time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from
physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be
"Dissimulation."
The above definition must be elaborated upon before any undertaking of this
topic is to ensue. Although correct, the definition suffers from an
apparent generalization, and lacks some fundamental details that should be
construed:
First, the CONCEALMENT of one's beliefs does NOT necessitate an ABANDONMENT
of these beliefs. The distinction between "concealment" and "abandonment"
MUST be noted here.
Second, there are numerous exceptions to the above definition, and they
MUST be judged according to the situation that one is placed in. As such,
one should NOT make a narrow-minded generalization that encompasses all
situations, thereby failing to fully absorb the spirit of the definition.
Third, the word "beliefs" and/or "convictions" does NOT necessarily mean
"religious" beliefs and/or convictions.
With the above in mind, it becomes evident that a better, and more accurate
definition of "al-Taqiyya" is "diplomacy." The true spirit of "al-
Taqiyya" is better embodied in the single word "diplomacy" because it
encompasses a comprehensive spectrum of behaviors that serve to further the
vested interests of all parties involved.
Sunni Sources in Support of al-Taqiyya
============================== ========
The following exposition will Insha Allah demonstrate the existence
of al-Taqiyya in the Quran, Hadith, the Prophet's (PBUH&HF) custom, and the
companions' custom. As usual, Sunni books will be used to further the
argument. This is in keeping with the commitment to reveal the truth by
showing that the Sunnis reject the Shia's arguments, while THEIR OWN books
are replete (full) with the SAME ideologies that the Shia uphold! Although
some Wahhabis staunchly argue their aforementioned statements, and
aggressively defame the Shia and refute their doctrines, they have failed
to explain the validity of their argument vis-a-vis the existence of these
SAME doctrines in their own books, as has been demonstrated in ALL the past
posts about the Shia. Those who think that they are the true protectors of
the custom of the Prophet (PBUH&HF) and the only guardians of the Islamic
Faith, how can they explain their own rejection of that which they are
supposed to protect? Rejecting al-Taqiyya is rejecting the Quran, as will
be shown shortly.
Let's Begin...
Reference 1:

Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti in his book, "al-Durr al-Manthoor Fi al-Tafsir al-
Ma'athoor," narrates Ibn Abbas', the MOST renowned and trusted narrator of
tradition in the sight of the Sunnis, opinion regarding al-Taqiyya in the
Quranic verse: "Let not the believers take for friends or helpers
unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, (they) shall have no
relation left with Allah except by way of precaution ("tat-taqooh"), that
ye may guard yourselves ("tooqatan") from them...." that Ibn Abbas
said:
"al-Taqiyya is with the tongue only; he who has been COERCED into
saying that which angers Allah (SWT), and his heart is comfortable
(i.e., his TRUE faith has NOT been shaken.), then (saying that which
he has been coerced to say) will NOT harm him (at all); (because) al-
Taqiyya is with the tongue only, (NOT the heart)."
NOTE: The two words "tat-taqooh" and "tooqatan," as mentioned in the Arabic
Quran, are BOTH from the same root of "al-Taqiyya."
NOTE ALSO: The "heart" as referred to above and in later occurrences refers
to the center of faith in an individual's existence. It is mentioned many
times in the Quran.
Reference 2:
-----------
Ibn Abbas also commented on the above verse, as narrated in Sunan al-
Bayhaqi and Mustadrak al-Hakim, by saying:
"al-Taqiyya is the uttering of the tongue, while the heart is
comfortable with faith."
NOTE: The meaning is that the tongue is permitted to utter anything in a
time of need, as long as the heart is not affected; and one is still
comfortable with faith.

Lieing for the sake of Allah
Hadith Sahih Bukhari (5:369)
Prophet Muhammad called for volunteers to assassinate a poet who was making fun of him, K’ab bin Ashraf.
K’ab’s step-brother Muhammad bin Maslama said he would, but could he lie to get him out of his fortress? The Prophet replied affirmatively.
Taqiyya, Taqqiyya and Dissimulation
(by Robert E. Burns, Grad Dip Islamic Studies)
Al-taqiyya, dissimulation or plain, right-out lieing is often stated to be a shiite muslim concept. An example is the Iranian revolution of 1979 where Ayatollah Khomeini presented his struggle as one against the Shah and invited all Iranians to participate. However, his primary agenda was the introduction of a theocratic islamic state based on vicious Sharia, islamic law. Within a year or so his former “allies”, democrats, Marxists, communists, Baha’i were being executed. [Not to forget how the "american allies" helped Osama during his war with the soviets but guess what? Now America is his number one satan.]
But taqiyya is not just a Shia tradition. The Sunni Moriscos rode out the Spanish Inquisition by hiding their true views. They would conform by going along to mass and then wash off the “holy water” when they got home. (I certainly do not blame them for this taqqiyya.(Double q when their life is in danger.)) [Muslims still practice this taqiyya infiltration in the middle east and various parts of Africa as can be attested to by several burnt down churches and murdered christians; this will explain why people like H2O will say whatever he suspects will cause you to look moderately at islam even to the point of saying sura 4:34 where it says men can beat their wives really means men should beat other men, I am sure his conscience is clear while he tells us this rubbish]
What is important to us today is to be on our guard in re this “diplomacy”, dissimulation and not take muslim statements at face value. Al-Qaeda did not seem to realize that they could not overcome the Western superpower (or perhaps they had a compulsion to martyrdom?) but most muslim countries know that the time is not yet ripe for the islamization of the world.; For example, Saudi Arabia sees a need to protect its corrupt regime and oil from the Iraqis and for this Western weapons are needed.
The Qur’an explains this:
“Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers …
except by way of precaution (taqiyya), that ye may guard yourselves from them.
But Allah cautions you to remember Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.” (3:2)
“In the cause of Allah” is the qualifying concept. Muslims must not dissemble if this is not the case: for example for personal reasons or where the aims of islam should be made clear.
Religious and progressive groups in the West should beware of “United Fronts” with muslims who will use them for taqiyya. “Stop the bombing of Afghanistan, the killing of civilians” in many cases really meant “stop the bombing of caves where Osama bin Laden might be hiding”. Muslim apologists will blithely tell you that jihad means “striving for Allah” e.g. in one’s personal life or perhaps war to defend islam knowing full well that it can be offensive war to spread islam. They will tell you that islam is a religion of peace and tolerance when there are dozens of examples of belligerence and intolerance in the Qur’an, for example (9:5), (98:6), (9:29), (9:14), (8:39), (9:123), (48:29),(60:4), (5:72-73), …
Their main reply when these verses are quoted to them is that “they are quoted out of context” or applied to certain conditions pertaining at that time. But this is pure dissimulation: fundamentalists will say that the verses do apply today and have never been abrogated.
As a general rule, do your own research. Many fundamentalist web sites do not hide the truth of their aims and doctrines. They are proud not to dissemble. [Seems only westernised muslims are going out of their way trying to stop the tide of insanity that is the real islam claiming this people don't understand their own religion yet these westernised muslims only make up less than 5% of islam and they also include the ahmaddiyas, NOI.. considered as apostate by the islamic ummah]
Muhammad permitted lieing if it was in the interests of islam
Sahih Bukhari 5:369
Allah's Apostle said, "Who is willing to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf a who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?" Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, "O Allah's Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?" The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, "You may say it." ...
Islam’s #1 theologian allowed lieing in the interests of islam
Imam Abu Hammid Ghazali said: "Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lieing, it is unlawful to accomplish through lieing because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lieing but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible." (Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, “The Reliance of the Traveller”)
“On the battlefield” (dealing with non-muslims) outwittings are necessary.
Hadrat Ali said that in the battlefield one could not observe the highest standard of truth as a muslim has been exhorted to do in matters of religion. For example in the battlefield one has to hide facts and outwit the enemy." (Hadith Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, ft. #1446)
Tauriya or twisting of meanings
" A type of lie which is not a serious sin is tauriya or double-entendre which means using a word, an expression or a phrase, which has an obvious meaning and intending thereby another meaning to which it applies, but which is contrary to the obvious one." (Sahih Muslim Vol. 1, ft. 402, English version)
Diversion: For example, questions relating to the 9/11 terrorists
attacks will be diverted by a causally irrelevant counter reference to
the plight of the Palestinians, the nefarious role of Israel and US
foreign policy and support for Israel as Œcauses¹ of terrorism.
Anti-Semitism, a core belief of Islamic fundamentalism is also
skillfully diverted by misleading and exaggerated historical references
to the alleged status enjoyed by Jews and non-believers under Islamic
rule, thereby deflecting critical examination of the virulent
contemporary Islamic anti-Semitism.
Demanding "evidence": Islamic spokesmen practice a form of taqiyya
defined in psychology as "cognitive denial" by repetitive and extreme
requests for "evidence and proof" of alleged terrorist acts, which they know cannot be disclosed.
Tactical denial: Rather than admitting that a proposition concerning a
state of affairs can be partly true, an Islamic spokesman will deny a
claim or proposition in absolute terms. For example, ³It is impossible
to be a Muslim and a terrorist¹ , which is false and "Islam forbids
suicide", which is true, but irrelevant as suicide or martyrdom attacks
are not forbidden in the Koran.
Exploiting cognitive dissonance: Islamic spokesman tend to be baffle
television interviewers and puzzle viewers as they resort to double talk
"cliches and platitudes" concerning Islam. A state of cognitive
dissonance-holding two contradictory beliefs and attempting to resolve
them- is induced in viewers as they attempt to process the claim that
Islam is a peaceful religion with the dissonant facts of Islamic
terrorist acts and operations.
The Islamic 'defence' script: Islamic spokesmen repeat the same
predictable platitudes concerning Islam in London as do Islamic
spokesmen in Seattle and often appear to follow a prepared script from
³Islam is tolerant and peace loving¹ to the claim by Islamic spokeswomen
invariably claiming that wearing the veil offers them more freedom
(women in Muslim countries are therefore Œfreer¹ than women in western
countries), thereby precluding further examination into the real status
of women under Islamic rule.
Islamic platitudes are also echoed uncritically by Western politicians,
for example "A small group of fundamentalists have hijacked a great
religion". The timely, skilful, misleading and diversionary theme of the
"hijacking of Islam" was introduced into public, political and media
discourse by an Islamic spokesmen in the United States shortly after
the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The "Islam has been hijacked" diversionary theme is now a conventional
media and political reference deflecting attention from empirical and
historical examination of the doctrinal, political and religious
continuity of Islamic terrorism. A related theme that a small minority
of Muslims are engaged in terrorism is utterly irrelevant as Islamic
terrorism is always perpetrated by (small minorities) or more
accurately "small groups".
Australia television viewers noted that interviews with terrorist suspects raided by security authorities invariably featured veiled women holding small children or a baby as they protested their husband¹s innocence and attested to his innate goodness. Trembling fingers pointed to (damage to the family residence). In some interviews the suspect / father holds the child, whilst denying involvement or knowledge of terrorism in any sense of the word: an example of taqiyya in the age of impressions and perception management.
Taqiyya and the Deceptive use of Jihad: The contemporary political
meaning of jihad is clear: it is Jihad of the sword. Egyptian-based
Islamic fundamentalists, from whom Bin Laden recruited his key
operatives, believe jihad is the fourth pillar of Islam and is a binding
belief and integral to the faith. Claiming that Jihad is a subjective
and psychological state of personal struggle is taqiyya. In contemporary
terms, Jihad means - holy war - against unbelievers and it in this
context that Al Qaeda training manuals refer to Jihad as (Holy War).
HRAIC’s Experience
Our organization has experienced taqiyya, “outwittings”, lieing about this website in a submission made to the Victorian Office of Multicultural Affairs - "Response to Proposed Racial & Religious Tolerance Bill " by Amir Butler of the Australian Muslim Public Affairs Committee.

But Sayful and his friends laugh at the idea that they are local pariahs. "The mosques say one thing to the public, and something else to us. Let's just say that the face you see and the face we see are two different faces," says Abdul Haq. "Believe me," adds Musa, "behind closed doors, there are no moderate Muslims."_________________
The original parts of islam are not moral and the moral parts are not original it has been proven several times the koran is nothing but revised plagiarised material, a religion that advises and encourages it's adherents to misrepresent the religion to the ignorant masses (bearing false witnesses, lieing) is simply being deceitful no matter how westernised muslims will try and sugar coat it, with a god like allah who needs satan.
