Judaism ForumWHAT WAS THE ORIGINAL SIN? ANYONE? TRY THIS!What is sin, other than a sickness with consequences? There are many genetic diseases that our offspring inherit, and this is one Adam and Eve were warned to avoid. The symbol of Christianity is not the guiding beam of a lighthouse or the refreshing waters of a fountain, but an instrument of death and suffering. Sin is a disease that requires radical surgery and the cross testifies to the severity of the prognosis. The cross is a great road sign in life's journey warning us that the ways of this world lead to death, and even our own hearts have somehow become twisted. It urges us to understand that we cannot make it ourselves. We need help! The Bible does not give Adam and Eve's age during their fall, and if one could trust the apocrypha writings, we could be lead to believe they were hundreds of years old. This is not the important question – the real question is . . . How can we know if and when Adam and Eve lived? The concept of a common line of descent within the human species has been a widely accepted notion among anthropologists for many years, but concrete evidence of this reality has recently come through the study of human genetics. This new insight derived from sampling peoples Mitochondria from around the world has positively demonstrated that all humans have a single female ancestor. Researchers have dubbed this original woman, “Mitochondrial Eve”, and though the issue has sparked outrageous controversy, we find in this research a mathematical test to authenticate our Eden in Israel proposition. What are Mitochondrial and how is this evidence for an original Eve? Mitochondrial are the cell's power supplies, consuming sugars our bodies have converted from food, and generating electricity to power each individual cell. Mitochondria have their own DNA and individuals inherit their mitochondria DNA from only the mother’s side. Male sperm contains just enough mitochondria to get sperm to the mother’s egg, but this new cell created by the spirm and egg only caries the mother’s mitochondria. This means that mitochondria genetic mutation rate is relatively slow, compared to the 50/50 genetic mix our other DNA reflects resulting from two parents procreating. So mitochondria DNA can be sampled from a particular Asian population, for example, and can be compared with the mitochondria DNA from North American residents to determine at which point genetic mutations had occurred. The research was started in the early 80's by Dr. Rebecca Cain, who believed that this mitochondrial genetic marker would provide clues as to where and when humans originated. The results of her study shocked the scientific community at the time, as they determined that Mitochondrial Eve lived between 22,000 - 180,000 years ago, depending on the number of mothers that carried this genetic marker. This was a dramatic adjustment to the existing estimates as palaeontologists had previously set this time-frame to be as far back as 4,000,000 years. Cain's team also argued that, if only two individuals were involved, then the couple would have lived in an even more recent time-frame; and they placed this date at 22,000 years ago. For many scientists, this date was frightening close to the Biblical records time frame, and if this wasn't enough bad news, Mitochondrial Eve was found to have lived somewhere between Egypt and Mesopotamia. Since the time of this early research, it has become evident that there’s an original male equivalent called Y-chromosomal Adam, deriving from the Y chromosomes that are passed down exclusively by the father. The time frame for this first man matches the earlier dates proposed by Mitochondrial Eve, and once again, this original genetic representative can be traced back to the same area.
