Hello friends, it has been a while since I wrote but I have been reading. And this topic requires a comment.
There are a few facts that seem to be over looked whenever some one starts to point out the cruelness of war. And / or the "cruel heartlessness of our soldiers"
Do you recall how long it took to move into Sadams Castle? Which they found totally empty stripped by some speedy movers? If all the fortune could be moved out without traces should we believe that weapons cannot be?
Do you recall the years of Vietnam? The people spit on our troops and called them baby killers. The media reported it as they saw fit. The fact that bodies are booby-trapped, that babies in diapers had grenades in them when they walked up to a passing patrol. That the enemy was, as now almost unidentifiable. Not to mention the traps, the thick snake infested jungles, snipers, and death at any moment from any direction.
And our troops were drafted to go there. None of our troops are saying come on I want to go to Iraq. They are being sent away from their wife’s, husbands, fathers, mothers, and children. Some never to return again.
Have you ever looked down a crowded street and wondered if the next passing car was a suicide bomber.
The next rooftop anti tanks weapon.
We have once again sent our troops into a no win situation, unless we get our warm, well fed, unknowing selves out of their ways and allow them to perform the job they have been trained to do we will continue to see the smiling faces of our soldiers being blown off as they reach out a helping hand.
Are you aware that aside from the civil war no war has ever been fought on American soil? Other lands use the fact that most Americans have never seen a battle little alone lived in a war situation to provoke them to attack their on people. The media sells you half a story to make the report interesting. People post pictures like those above and take it for granted that it had to be our troops.
We are the only ones shooting. Please people be real, the same ones who complain about our military involvement complain about the local police, until they need them.
Visit a veterans hospital and speak to some of the veterans, ask them to tell you some war stories, I bet they don't match any of the hogwash you have been hearing and believing till now.
