Christian/Muslim ThreadsWhat qualifies Muhamad as a prophet ?You may want to rephrase the above Seeing that as well as being the Saviour of the world [Lk 2.11, John 4.42, Acts 5.31, 13.23, 1 John 4.14] Messiah Jesus is also THAT Prophet spoken of in Deut 18.15,18-19! [John 6.14 Dt 18.15,18-19, Acts 3.20-26, 7.37, John 7.40; Lk 24.19, Mt 21.11, Lk 7.16, John 4.19, 9.17] Jesus referred to himself, as being a prophet [Lk 13.33, John 4.44, Mt 13.57, Mark 6.4, Lk 4.24] Just thought I would point this out. (John 4:44) For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country. (Luke 13:33) Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. (Mat 21:9-11) And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? 11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. (Luke 7:16) And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. (Luke 24:19) ... Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: (John 6:14) Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. (Acts 3:20-26) And he [GOD] shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord [YAHWEH] your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son [SERVANT] Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (Luke 2:11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. i.e. the Lord Messiah (Acts 5:31) Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 13:23) Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: (1 John 4:14) And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. |
