Judaism ForumEden was Actually in Israel - Biblical Evidence and GeologicI love the drama of the moment here tuppence, and I really am honored to have such a worthy opponent to my case – no sarcasm intended. All flatter aside, plate tectonics is an established geologic principle now and is easily demonstrated by a variety of geophysical methodology like seismic modeling, and deep penetrating magnetic resonance. In fact, one of the evidences for an ancient earth is the magnetic striping as a result of polar reversals in the spreading oceanographic plates: See here: http://pubs.usgs.gov/publications/text/developing.html Not only has this idea been unproven, in the remotest sense of empirical testing methodology, it would be chemically implausible! Deep subterranean water, and I’m talking about water just several miles down, is quickly incorporated into the crystal matrix of the surrounding host rock. Between the time of Eden, and the flood, all this water you’re suggesting was expelled from the inner earths radioactive engine would have been absorbed into the surrounding rock. But I'm such a good story teller, don't you think? |
