Revelation and Prophecy :: EschatologyPost tribI think I'd have to agree with Eddie on this one: The most pertinent question is "not when will it happen" but rather "what is our relationship to Christ when it happens". If this is true, then why is the coming of Christ likened to a "thief in the night"? Most people aren't certain when a thief will come. "Uncertainty" is a poor choice of words here. Were are certain the it will happen. We do not know when it will happen. This makes it imminent. It can happen at anytime. This is not uncertainty, rather an incentive for us to act according to God's will because we don't know the day or the hour of His coming. Your "certainty" in the post-trib view seems more to me like a license to slack off for at least another 7 years than it does insight into God's Word. What incentive is there to live righteously now, if you know (short of an untimely death) you've got 7 more years? |
