The letters to the Romans...which we now call the Book of Romans.
I have been instructed by the Father to bear all good gifts and give what I have to the poor. In this I fulfull my calling, that is to prepare a people no longer influenced by outside matters but rather concern themselves with the inward man. Setting himself apart in prayer and understanding, giving good alms and receiving that which the Lord has for him to receive.
Our Brother in Christ, Paul, was a teacher, an instructor. He was able to say things in such a way that it made sense [Peter also commended Paul on this, saying also that there were those that would distort such truth - check out Peter's letters]. He did not bring in a technique he had learned on this world, but rather he sprung from the roots of Jesse and preached Christ Crucified to all who would listen.
Paul always proves grace towards the people, he knew what manner of spirit he has come from, and he never contradicts himself.
Pauls life was a journey. He did not go to the towns where the foundations of Christ were already laid, he went to places where there was nothing as yet to build on. He longed to go to Rome, the intellect capital of the world, but he was stopped on more than one occasion and thus the letters began to be sent to them while the delay was occuring.
He writes them anear the end of his letters, that he is on his way to Jerusalem; he asks them to pray that he might be deliverd from the unbelievers in Judea...and then come to them by way of Spain. How did Paul end up in Rome? His final destiny? He was stoned in Jerusalem, saved by the Roman Gaurds who wanted to let him go after finding out he was a Roman citizen but Paul sent out an appeal to Ceasar, he wanted to go before the Roman Counsil. And so they left with him, and others...set sail for Rome, got caught in a storm and so on...Rome was Pauls last stop and he lived his days out under house arrest near the ocean where many came to him daily to listen to him speak of the Mysteries of God, through our Blessed Saviour, Jesus Christ.
